I'm back Applied for the PI scholarship, anyone else? Also got my grant offer in the mail yesterday, $6k, which brings the grand total thus far of money from LUC to $12.5k. If I could get the PI scholarship too that would be fantastic. I'm visiting next Friday and super excited. One of my schools needs a decision by April 2 though so that's really stressing me out. Hopefully I just fall in love with LUC or something and feel an absolute need to go there. Otherwise, I'm at a loss.

Has anyone visited the school. I am dying to know about the facilities. Perhaps see some pictures. I just got off the phone with the finance people today. I submitted my deposit and confirmed my GI Bill. Unless I get into Notre Dame, I think Loyola is the place for me.

No pics, but I visited. Very nice. Far and away the better facilities of the LUC/DePaul/Kent group.

I don't know about the health law fellowships... but I applied for a different fellowship, was interviewed last week, and was offered the fellowship this week.

They actually want a response on whether I'll accept it by April 1.

So I'd guess you should hear soon.

Is anyone familiar with LUC's career prospects within Chicago BigLaw (nlj250 firms)? Clearly on would have to be near the top of their class to be considered by one of these firms, but do they even recruit at LUC? I'm not interested in doing health law and would like to focus more on the business side of things - not tax though. With undergrad internship experience at a top 50 law firm, I realize the different values of law degrees from schools of different rankings and would like to find out if such opportunities are possible with a LUC degree. Or would it be more beneficial to take a year off and work on gaining admission to a higher ranked law school? Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Heard back about the PI scholarship, didn't get it but am an alternate. Withdrew though. I'd have much better luck on the job market staying in my hometown than going to an awesome city like Chicago

Accepted to Baylor two weeks ago, so I plan on withdrawing soon. Good luck all!

dreambig: If you look at their 2011 graduating class employment data you will see that while 50 percent of the class is employed as lawyers 25 percent of the class are in a law firm from 2-10 lawyers. They place very few lawyers in top firms (12 last year) or 11 percent of those who secured attorney jobs (or 5.5 percent of the whole class). If you want to practice in Chicago at one of those firms go to U of C since they place an enormus percentage of their class in the 250 (see highest percentage in the country.)

Edit: While the number of big firms that recruit at Loyola is growing there are not that many.

Not sure if there is a Facebook page yet, but I am sure it will be coming soon.

was told on my visit that the school doesn't make a Facebook group, its left up for the students to create one.
