Why Cornell essay or no?

I thought it was mandatory?? That's the only reason I wrote one. Couldn't submit the application without filling in the required field...

? I don't remember what I wrote in the application. But I didn't attach a 'why'. They already knew I was in love with them.

did your status checker date change at all throught the cycle?

honestly I'm really not sure. I only checked it once I think. Despite my other neurotic tendencies, I haven't been infected with the compulsive status checker bug that's apparently rampant amongst TLS users.

So I've been going through the LSN data and apparently everyone who submitted their application on 9/15 was accepted. That could be good news for those of us with borderline numbers that are hoping for whatever kind of EA bump they can get as admissions goes through each batch

I thought that there was NO advantage to going EA..........at least that's what the Dean said in a TLS interview

The advantage is that they consider your application while they have more seats to fill. So if you're borderline it should help.

It seems as though a fair number of people were admitted in this thread and on LSN with numbers that were either reserved and/or eventually waitlisted last cycle ... this would seem to bode well for those still awaiting a decision.

Congrats! What were your numbers?

I applied on September 15th. Numbers are right around Cornell's medians for last year (168, 3.68).

Good luck to everyone else still waiting! These initial acceptances seem to be uncharacteristically early, so I'm sure there will be plenty of EA admits yet.

My status updated the 3 days before I received a decision, but I think it does mean soon!

I believe merit and need-based scholarship evaluations are done after filing your 2011 FAFSA and tax documents. See latter pages of the PDF that was attached in your admittance email.

when was the date of your last complete? Mine went from Nov 3, to Nov 8 but it is still at Nov 8
