I ran through it before, but I guess I'm more worried now because according to the info on their website, 2011's entering class bumped the 25th percentile up by 1 (previously would have been up by a point), so I'm not sure whether to look at kids with 170s or 169s from 2010 (I don't remember the picture being terribly rosy for the latter, but also don't know how it impacts me at the former...)

I may be wrong, but I don't think year-to-year float in the 25% or 75% mean as much as movement at the median.

http://nyu.lawschoolnumbers.com/applica ... ,7&type=jd

In the past two years, of applicants with a 170 and 3.8 or above, it seems about 64% get in to NYU. Not bad odds.

Thx! I really had no idea personally and felt like others on here (such as yourself) might be more knowledgeable on it (like I said, I looked at the data, but wasn't necessarily sure what I could reasonably draw from it, considering my situation)
I'm ED too, so hopefully that'll give me a slight boost... Was jw :)

How long does it take to receive a status checker on average? I submitted on 11/15 and haven't heard anything from NYU since.

You should check with them maybe? I submitted on the 13th and got my status checker on the 15th. Maybe they got really busy then, but it wouldn't hurt to check? or look at your spam folder.

They send status checkers out on Tuesdays. Unless they're doing something differently because it's a holiday week, you should get it tomorrow.

Got status checker today, submitted 11/15 if I recall correctly, kind of in a rush. Still processing here with the same date.

UR within the last twenty four hours.

When does NYU typically start sending out RD decisions?

Nah, I submitted the same day and am still processing. I believe a lot of people have gone straight from processing to UR. I wouldn't worry yet.

It's statements like this that lead me to believe you were not kidding.
I think they're going to be nice to your irrespective of your chances of getting in. Nor do I think the people answering your phone call are the people making AC decisions anyway. Soo...no.

From what I gather, everyone on TLS has had good experiences when calling a school. If you have a legitimate reason to call, don't be shy!

Sorry I'm in a grumpy mood, I agree, my experiences when calling schools has been lovely. I just think kids tend to read wayyyy too much into insignificant things during the app process.

Lol yeah, especially on TLS. (Still, pscho-analyzing everything ad comms do is a great way to pass the time :D )

If it's any comfort, the last two kids to get in from my school (that I know of) had really similar stats to that. Not helpful to me since I'm kind of more *average* than that by nature of having a higher LSAT and lower GPA, but I'd think the high GPA certainly gives you a boost :)

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
