Re: Stetson 2011 Applicants
I agree with everyone about the housing situation. I'm married and put a deposit in on one of the Stetson owned houses, but it is outdated and small. I've heard the Gulfview condos (I think that is the name?) across from Stetson are nice and modern, but a few people at Stetson said they are pretty busy, noisey at times.
I've been on the Stetson Connect Portal and it doesn't get updated too often, but there are some informative links.

In need of roommates!!!
I found a quiet, gated, town house that I would need 1, if not 2, roommates to justify the cost.
Please please please PM me if you are looking. I was originally only looking for guy roommates but have since thrown that out. lol

Re: Stetson 2011 Applicants
Hello everyone! Just received my acceptance email this morning. I was wondering how long it usually took for the admissions packet to arrive via postal mail, and if scholarship information was included in that packet?

Is yours right in the heart of Gulfport? I wonder if it's the same as the one I found. It was a 3br, but I don't have two people to room with so I am still waiting around.

I was accepted as a full-time student. I'm definitely going to be attending Stetson in the fall, with or without a scholarship. Do you have to pay your seat deposit to get scholarship offers/information? I'm super excited to attend Stetson this fall!

I thought I saw something in the admissions package that said you'd receive the financial aid information after the deposit was paid. I don't think that applies if you'll be offered a scholarship though.KM89 wrote:I was accepted as a full-time student. Jehu,
They award them all through the cycle so it is probably not too late. Really depends as far as numbers (think they figure in a lot of softs as well URM, work experience, etc) usually above the top 75% may get you something just call admissions they are pretty good about that stuff.

I was told it was numbers, specifically. I believe above the top 75% is accurate, though.bambadgers wrote:Jehu,

Re: Stetson 2011 Applicants
Yea they look at numbers a lot usually top 75% is (at least from my experience) where you will be likely to get money.
Also, one thing to look at for places to live would be to contact a real estate broker in the area (they have a lot that do rentals in the area) as a couple friends found some really nice places that were reasonable because the owners were never able to sell them but are now renting them. Also, depending on your price range you can usually find apartments right across the street from Stetson at Golfview they will run you 7-8 hundred for a 1 bedroom and 12-13 for a 2 bedroom.

Hi everyone. I just drove down from Michigan to check out the area and campus. I have a meeting with admissions tomorrow for a tour. If anybody has any questions, I'd be happy to get them addressed for you! I will also be checking out housing in the area.

+1! I'm trying to find a newer apartment in the area. I was just up there a couple of weeks ago, but didn't have enough time to look at many areas except for right around the school. If you see any that you would recommend, please let me know.LawBound11 wrote:Please share any housing you find that you rec!CBROWN22 wrote:Hi everyone. Re: Stetson 2011 Applicants
I'm attending this fall and having a ridiculously hard time finding a roommate. It's a lot easier to find a place to live if you have a roommate lined up so if anyone is in my situation please PM me or reply to this with your contact info.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
