I actually emailed and received a response within minutes. Basically said due to the storm, packets may have been delayed in actually getting in the mail, but they'd send me another if its not there by Friday.rs2004 wrote:has anyone called the office? mine was supposedly mailed 1/27 but i got nothing as of yesterdaySection141 wrote:Still no admit packet here, mailed 1/25. For those who got accepted, did you get your scholarship information with your acceptance notification? Is Temple generous with monies?

$2,500 renewable here. Was not expecting an offer that low. But I'm still considering them, since I'll be in-state.

This might be a dumb question but here goes. I was accepted, no money offered (no shock - below 25% gpa and lsat, non-URM) but I was curious - if people withdraw who were offered money, is that money redistributed only to newly accepted students, or also to students who have already been accepted with no money offered?

Not a stupid question, and I don't know the answer with any amount of certainty, but I'm going to guess they use the money when negotiating with people who already have scholarships and are asking for more. I've never heard of money being offered to already admitted students but it would certainly be nice!lwf911 wrote:This might be a dumb question but here goes. No, because I'd also (just as likely) qualify for in-state at those schools.twb136 wrote:Mr. Cosby,Bill Cosby wrote:Even if they do, if my offer is representative, they probably won't offer enough to make it compelling unless you're really, really wanting Temple over other schools. Does Temple negotiate?
But even if another school offered you double, wouldn't in state for your 2nd and 3rd year plus scholarship make the difference very noticeable?

kk19131, how was the meeting with the dean? What did you think about the law school/area?kk19131 wrote:I haven't gotten a packet yet, but it's scaring me that so many people are withdrawing due to small/lack of scholarships.

Nevertheless, I happen to like the area... But I might be biased as I love cities. People who are used to suburbs might not like it as much. I think Temple's area gets a bad rep from outsiders.

I know this has probably been answered, but those who applied later in the cycle, have we had any movement yet?

Two complete/under review dates. That's the only movement I've had.Evrydyhonestliar wrote:I know this has probably been answered, but those who applied later in the cycle, have we had any movement yet?

I really wish I had applied earlier. When I started researching the school, I really started to like it a lot. Stupid me.SherlockHolmes wrote:Two complete/under review dates. Email them and state that Temple's a top choice and some money would make it an easier decision to go there. They'll prob throw some money at you b/c in the end it benefits them more if you attend from tuition revenue and if you end up becoming a good lawyer, it helps their rep.NJPharmD2011 wrote:Not a stupid question, and I don't know the answer with any amount of certainty, but I'm going to guess they use the money when negotiating with people who already have scholarships and are asking for more. get ready for a long wait. I submitted 12/20, first complete 1/3, second complete 1/28. The wait may be due to the fact that my lsat score is decent enough for temple (163) but my GPA is low (3.2)oreo3405 wrote:cowgirl_bebop wrote:Applied on 1/14, SC email and complete on 1/21, crickets since then.Evrydyhonestliar wrote:I know this has probably been answered, but those who applied later in the cycle, have we had any movement yet?

Applied in November, but not complete until 1/7 because of wait for December LSAT. I have heard nothing since then, which is not surprising considering the complete date. I have 3.33/167

Just got waitlisted, second year in a row. I held off law school for a year, retook the LSATs and TestMasters and built up my resume so that I could get into Temple. I am from the region, work in Center City and wanted to go part-time. I haven't felt this horrible in a long time. If I was flat denied I would have been cool with it but for some reason this just feels like a slap in the face.

Re: Temple 2011
I wrote a LOCI last year and went on a campus tour. This year I used three LOR's instead of two. Overall, I made sure that my application was better than last and if they literally called me right now with an offer I would write them a check to go. My issue is that if I write a LOCI, contact them, etc. I also run the risk of looking like a mentally disturbed individual.cowgirl_bebop wrote:Sorry man. Lets compound the problem in I only applied to Temple, Widener and Rutger-Camden because I am going to go part-time while staying at my job. I go to Temple, I can live in Philly. I go to Widener (accepted, my last choice of the three), I live in Philly. Rutgers, I have to move across the river so I can afford it and get in state tuition. If I hold out hope, I am forced to not move and run the risk of going to Rutgers while paying out of state.
Now that everyone knows my life story, have a great evening and best of luck.

I'm still complete as of 1/21 --> should I be expecting any action anytime soon? Got into Maryland yesterday, but Temple is higher up on my list (or so I think right now). Thoughts? Beginning to get antsy here..

I wouldn't worry too much. Its only been like 2 weeks for you after all. From what I've gathered from this thread the wait time is between a few days to "OMG I'm going to die an old man before I hear back from them". I'm on a similar situation as you...got my second complete 1/272things2 wrote:I'm still complete as of 1/21 --> should I be expecting any action anytime soon?
