Yup, just got that too, and I haven't been offered admission yet either. I wonder if it means anything...

I felt the same way so I called the admissions office. The woman said that email was sent to all applicants, no matter the admissions status. I initially thought that said email was a sign of acceptance, but I was mistaken

Well you scared the admissions office. Just got another email stating that the last email did not mean I was offered admission!

To add to the financial aid discussion, I was waitlisted on Monday and got the financial aid e-mail today. So no, it does not mean acceptance.

I got the financial aid email and then got admitted about 5 minutes later. Anyone have any clue how generous villanova is with scholarships? I would need some serious money to choose 'nova over Temple

OK, here's something interesting. Maybe this has been covered earlier, I apologize if this is the case. Today I went in review (see a few posts earlier - Complete 1/14, 3.33/167). Anyways, I got the Financial Aid email, and then the second clarification email just sent out. Now, I just checked the status checker, and while I am still listed as In Review (with today's date), I have a line under mailings, with today's date, but the text of it is blank. Does this mean anything?

I just noticed that too.. I think its just referring to that financial aid email, which is dumb. I'm growing more and more frustrated with Nova as the days go by.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the "Mailings" listing only for snail mail? And if so, I guess that would mean we are all getting snail-mailed letters re: Financial aid? So is everyone else's status checker indicated the same thing? Villanova is sure making things interesting today!

The status checker is often used by schools to list both snail and non-snail mail.

If this is the case, then that is pretty frustrating! These status checkers are driving me nuts. I've applied to a few schools without them, and it's funny how I've spent so little time thinking about admissions to those schools, yet I find myself consistently thinking about the schools (most of whom) do have the checkers

Maybe mailings means any correspondence from the school. I am still at complete (since 11/16) and I have a new mailing listed as 2/16 and I also received the financial aid email. I am sure that's what it is referring to.

FWIW I was admitted in January and also received the financial aid emails today. However, I do not have any new mailings on my status checker since 1/14/11 (checked a few minutes ago).

Considering they just fired the top people in their admissions office, I'll give them a break. They seem to be trying hard to get things done.

I'm willing to be patient; granted, I've only been waiting a month, when others have been waiting for 3 or more, so take whatever I say with a grain of salt. It does seem like the process has been sped up/brought to speed since the scandal caused all the admissions office changes

I thought they were pretty generous. They gave me 30/yr w a 3.15 gpa requirment. ( my #s/ info are on my LSN account if you were wondering)

Far too many crybabies are applying to law school

. I'm a bit annoyed that I haven't gone into review yet, but lord have mercy...some of you need to give the complaining a rest.

Been Complete Since 12/22, haven't gone under review.

I called them yesterday too, just to confirm the blank line/email was just regarding financial aid, and asked the lady if she had any idea as to when I would go under review. She asked for my phone number and said she would call me tomorrow (today). Just thought I'd let you guys know, it sounded completely frantic over there, but also that they were trying.
