Still complete from November. Seriously, what the hell Tulane? Everyone on here complained about how slow SMU is/was, and I got a decision from them A MONTH AND A HALF AGO

There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when they will give you a decision. Could be a week, could be a year.
My heart can't take it.

I would bet that it is sort of like WUSTL's status checker, which has the following disclaimer: Your application is complete. Over time, you may notice that the current status date will change even though your status does not. These changes are not associated with the committee's decision.2things2 wrote:This exactly.sUkNoIrzTforEall wrote:did anyone else's status update to today?

Or maybe I'm just pessimistic.

Re: Tulane 2011
Is it weird that I haven't heard a peep from Tulane since 10/13 when my file went complete? I've either gotten a decision or a "we're still reviewing your file" from every other school I've applied to.. Might be about time to give them a call.
EDIT: Nevermind.. seems a lot of people think they're moving slow.. lol

Maybe so, but a school like Temple gives you an initial "complete" date, then gives you a second "complete" date, which for every applicant means that he or she will receive a decision in the next couple of days. Hoping this new complete is more meaningful than just an arbitrary date.Spookyghost wrote:I would bet that it is sort of like WUSTL's status checker, which has the following disclaimer: Your application is complete. I don't think Tulane is like this. I went complete for a second time 1/20 and still haven't received a decision.2things2 wrote:Maybe so, but a school like Temple gives you an initial "complete" date, then gives you a second "complete" date, which for every applicant means that he or she will receive a decision in the next couple of days. Re: Tulane 2011
I spoke with admissions at a few schools I'm waiting to hear from last week, and Tulane said, if memory serves, that they are hoping to admit as many people they're fo sho about as possible before their second ASW a few weeks from now.
At least I THINK it was Tulane. They were incredibly nice and said to call back if I still hadn't heard in a few weeks.
I love New Orleans.
I'm thinking second complete=good news soon.
One never knows, of course.

If it's anything like undergrad, they'll take their sweet time unless it involves some kind of money deadline that nets THEM money. Still, I e-mailed them today, but am expecting another done when its done response.

Re: Tulane 2011
As an update, which I think someone said, I got a generic e-mail response back, however it did say that they had planned to get as many decisions in before their last ASW which is April 1-2, so maybe only two more weeks of agony!?

Re: Tulane 2011
Thanks! I was looking through the website and it's not pretty: "Complete applications will be reviewed beginning approximately December 1, and decisions will be made on those applications that clearly meet or fail to meet the selection criteria. Decisions on some applications may be deferred until mid to late spring. In particular, decisions for candidates who fall in the middle of the applicant pool are unlikely to be made before late April or even May. A waiting list of candidates with acceptable credentials will be created in late spring."Spookyghost wrote:Happy birthday, but no chanceMr_Brightside wrote:An acceptance today would be a great birthday gift, Tulane. I know you know you want to.. I predict at least two more years before any of us get a decision.

As I said I e-mailed them and they said my application is still in review (that is Tulane speak for "I HAVE NO IDEA WHO YOU EVEN ARE") and that they PLAN to have MOST acceptances in by 4/1-4/2. I had never even seen this stuff with the WL and April-May stuff, my heart is already weak from all this waiting around.Mr_Brightside wrote:Spookyghost wrote:Happy birthday, but no chanceMr_Brightside wrote:An acceptance today would be a great birthday gift, Tulane. Re: Tulane 2011
I will be withdrawing soon due to no $ (not that I expected any with my #s) because though Tulane has been awesome - a professor called me! - it's too expensive for me.
I really hope one of you gets my spot! Seems like an amazing place to spend 3 years!
