After reviewing this thread, it seems like the UCR 12/14 people are in bad shape (myself included), while members of the 12/15 group should expect a phone call by the end of the week. The difference in numbers is apparent.

My "analysis" didn't go back that far. I noticed my status date changed yesterday, and after comparing the 12/14 people with the 12/15 people, then looking at Penn last year on LSN, I am now shaking my head in discouragement.

No need to be worried on your end; you should be getting a call soon too.

just to clarify- your theory is that people who's second UCR is 12/15 are acceptances and the 14th are WL/dings? And this is based on the #s of people with these updates or last years numbers?

Stig - Your numbers dominate. You should be at Chicago or Columbia next year (unless Penn happens to be your top choice).

Went UCR for the first time today, complete since 11/11...I am starrydreamz's number twin (and now I feel like a stalker, lol). Really hoping for Penn, I'd take it (with $$) over any of CCN. They seem to take a fair number of kids from my undergrad each year, so I'm pretty hopeful.

Sorry. I didn't mean to be confusing.

My guess is based on the numbers of TLS members with 12/14 UCR versus the people with 12/15 UCR. Also, from LSN, Penn seems to not like splitters very much but favors candidates with both a high GPA (>3. (<- supposed to be "3.8" ) and a LSAT in the 170-173 range.

For my own sake, I hope my guess is wrong; but I am doubtful.

I looked at TLS members with numbers in profiles who said they had a 12/14 UCR update date, but I didn't note whether it was a first or second update.

Please remember I am merely speculating, but decision dates from last year lead me to believe that things will start to move in here very soon.

Haha yeah. I've been speculating on all the schools I've applied to. I don't know how healthy it is, but I really have noticed patterns that ended up happening. It seems that each school really does have a system. But I'm sure that when people go under review they're in a pile based on their numbers, but as long as a school's "holistic" (and a couple are anyway), it's not set in stone.

You seem to be having an excellent cycle thus far. Are your numbers both above Penn's 75th percentiles?
