Oh man. Like night and day compared to BYU. Utah's looking more appealling.buchy2009 wrote:The faculty/students/staff in the law school all seemed very nice and collegial. I am mostly worried about the average age being 28. As I am a 22 year old right out of college.... I do still like to go out every once in awhile.... and I am not sure I will be able to connect with people who are at such different places in their lives....
BUT there are a lot of things I love about the school..... I am pretty torn.

I think it will be more social than it comes off at first glance. Talked to a 2L on Tuesday specifically regrding this, as I am both older and single. She thought it was pretty reasonable socially. I hope some of you younger folks don't get scared off. Look on youtube for vid of the dean winning a dance-off.lalala21 wrote:I am mostly worried about the average age being 28. I was told that a decision should be made on my application within the week a week ago. Now I'm just getting impatient, lol. D=

The status never changes, even after you're admitted/rejected/waitlisted.jpjpporter wrote:Status date changed today (finally) but status still hasn't changed at all. Anybody else in the same boat??

Haha, yeah. I'm in the same boat. My application is now "in review" as of 3/31/2011 as opposed to "in review" as of 3/11/2011. At least it's a change of some kind!

We really are in the same boat that was the exact thing that happened to me 3/11/ "in review" to 3/31 "in review". Wait to look on the bright side at least it is some kind of a change.. One way or the other I just want to hear something!!samaside wrote:Haha, yeah. I'm in the same boat. My application is now "in review" as of 3/31/2011 as opposed to "in review" as of 3/11/2011. Re: University of Utah 2011
Yeah, I know, right? I'm in at two third-tier state schools and I'd like to hear back from at least one of my actually ranked schools. When I called admissions they told me that it would take "another week" to make a decision on my application but so far this is the only change I've seen. Hopefully this doesn't mean that I really got rejected and they are just waiting for me to get the snail mail rejection letter, lol.jpjpporter wrote:We really are in the same boat that was the exact thing that happened to me 3/11/ "in review" to 3/31 "in review". Seat deposits are due the 15th, so they may be waiting to see what the class is going to look like to make a decision on your app. Good Luck!

They just changed the date to "04/07/2011" but I have still not heard anything. Also, it still says "Under Review"

I just got a little white envelope that says that I have been waitlisted, sucks but better than being rejected. The letter says that they are willing to grant me an interview and I wanted to know if anyone has done that and what type of questions did they ask, thanks.

VSHAR... do you mind sharing your numbers (gpa/lsat)? I have still not heard anything from them which is weird because I have now heard from all the other schools I've applied to.

I agree. But a lot of people I met were also married. I don't know. I love the school but I am super scared of moving to a new place and then ending up having very few friends that I can truly relate to..... I work in an office where they are all around 28 and it is fun when we go out.... but that is pretty rare. I do not party all the time by any means.... I am just a litttle worried about it that is all.

Re: University of Utah 2011
A friend of mine last year interviewed. I believe it was a lot of 'why utah' questions, and questions about your PS, work experience, etc. Basically a chance to sell yourself to Dean Aguilar. It may have changed though, last year was the first year they did interviews.vshar840 wrote:I just got a little white envelope that says that I have been waitlisted, sucks but better than being rejected. Wait listed. Got the envelope in the mail yesterday but I am rocking a killer case of bronchitis so I guess my parents just didn't mention it assuming I'd be better today. It's not a rejection but, eh, I guess I'll have to see how it plays out. Unless they do phone interviews that's really not an option. Which is fine; not too bummed about it really. Like I said, we'll see how it plays out.
