IN! I'm very surprised. 159/163/3.8 here. I was totally expecting a WL. First acceptance feels good

Waitlisted. A little surprised because my numbers seemed like a good match. I wonder if they consider character and fitness issues more because of their honor system? I had a few minor things I had to disclose because I went to a really strict undergrad university...

I think they do...I believe that there were some people early on in this thread that got WL or denied due to C&F issues...buchy2009 wrote:Waitlisted. I think that depends on what the issue was. For example, I had to disclose getting a civil infraction for selling to a minor two weeks after I started my current job.buchy2009 wrote:Waitlisted. Oh my God, I got waitlisted!!!! I have a 3.93 from a top-tier tech university with a 154 LSAT. I have an interesting background and some good softs and my essays were strong. I guess this is better than being rejected. Anyone have an idea if people ever get off the waitlist or what to do to get off? This is my top choice. I hope the rest of my cycle is good. This is my first decision, and I am shocked I didn't get a flat out rejection. I want to go to the waitlist open house, but it will be an expensive trip.

Best thing you can probably do to get of the WL - retake.jaydizzle wrote:Oh my God, I got waitlisted!!!! I have a 3.93 from a top-tier tech university with a 154 LSAT. I'm considering it, but I keep choking on the LSAT even though I do much better on practice tests.queenlizzie13 wrote:Best thing you can probably do to get of the WL - retake.jaydizzle wrote:Oh my God, I got waitlisted!!!! I'm retaking in Feb to try and get off the UVA WL...I tend to do worse on the real thing too, so I want to be scoring higher than my goal in Feb.jaydizzle wrote:I'm considering it, but I keep choking on the LSAT even though I do much better on practice tests.queenlizzie13 wrote:Best thing you can probably do to get of the WL - retake.jaydizzle wrote:Oh my God, I got waitlisted!!!! Re: W&L 2011 Applicants
I just got my waitlist decision today. 158, 3.7, interesting softs. I was pretty shocked to say the least, I was also expecting a rejection due to my low LSAT. Guess now all we do is sweat it out for a couple months.jaydizzle wrote:Oh my God, I got waitlisted!!!! I have a 3.93 from a top-tier tech university with a 154 LSAT. I will write the ethics essay. Should I beef up my app at all and submit some things to them?

Waitlisted. Better than the outright rejection I was expecting I suppose....

This. I plan on doing my ASW during April, most likely.lilliea wrote:snowballgirl wrote:Congrats to those who were accepted! Maybe I will see some of you at the ASW!

I just went back out east last month and so I need time to save up more $. But I do like that W&L has that travel stipend. I'll just use more frequent flyer miles for the airfare.

Re: W&L 2011 Applicants
Its less about money for me, and has more to do with the fact that the February ASW is the weekend of my birthday, and seeing as how its probably the last one I'll be spending at hime, my family would be less than pleased if I wasn't there. Especially my grandfather, whose birthday is one day earlierqueenlizzie13 wrote:This. Just got in today too! Psyched aboutthe quick turnaround, they seem to be on their game. Really like the small class sizes and collegial atmosphere.. Probably going to the February ASW. Congrats and good luck to everyone else
