I'm confused...if they have a 13% acceptance rate and still overenrolled, where's the yield problem?
Sorry, I think I conflated two issues. In my tangent, I forget that my point was not that they're trying to increase their yield, but rather to decrease their overall class size, so in essence to maintain their yield but have it 'yield' a smaller overall number. Thanks for pointing that out. The logic in my post was a big fail; I'm surprised no one pointed it out earlier...

haha no worries...it was actually an informative post. The Duke thread always seems to be falling down the page here, especially for a T14 school. For whatever reason it just doesn't seem to be that attractive to applicants so I enjoyed the speculation as to why.

Wow. On the off chance of a miracle happening, I actually checked my duke status checker today. UR date changed from 10/19 to 2/2/11. Are they actually looking at us rd folk now?

Mine too! I think I was under review 1/7 or 1/10? I didn't submit until late December. UR 2/2! Movement!

UR 1/24 --> UR 2/3. Does anybody know what this means as far as when we could get a decision? I haven't been waiting very long (applied early January) but its still nice to see some movement.
