We love people to visit, I just don't want anyone coming with a false expectation about what will happen. To schedule a time, just call the office and my team will set something up. If you want to meet with me specifically, just let them know and they will find a time that I am available.

Dean Pless,

I was accepted, with scholarship money (which I'm am extremely excited about!), but am retaking the LSAT in February. Would a higher LSAT score be something Illinois would take into consideration for raising scholarship offers?

Dean Pless:

I read on here that there might be a plan to raise the qualifying income for LRAP from $55,000 to $65,000. Is the school still considering this?

It is best to just call or email me with the list of schools you are considering and the offers they have made. We can then talk about it and figure out what is the best fit.

Dean Pless,

I know you've already been thanked many times here, but I wanted to add my voice to the chorus. The application process at Illinois has been the least painful and most informed of any I have been through. I have not been stressed, because I know that any question I have will be answered fully and without reproach.

Further, knowing when I would go under review and hear a response has decreased the need to obsessively check my status checker. While I feel that the status checker IS a good thing for transparency, I think that Illinois has taken the next step and should be emulated by other schools.

If you Deans of Admissions have conferences (or secret meetings in a dark lair... whichever), know that us applicant back your way of doing things.

Are your offices open? If not, when will they open again? I am coming for a visit at the end of the month and am hoping to schedule a tour, etc. Also, do you think there will be snow around this time?

-A girl who hasn't seen snow since she was 8

We are open for business. Probably 50/50 on snow. We don't have any snow on the ground now (two 50 degree days took care of that), but we should be getting a few inches tonight and tomorrow.

Hi Dean Pless,

Sooo I'm curious as to the the amount of weight you place on undergraduate major. I'm graduating with a degree in Human Biology with a good gpa (hopefully makes up for a very mediocre LSAT) and I have heard that perhaps law schools may frown on majors from the life sciences because they think the applicant really wanted to go to med school but just couldn't cut it. I have also heard that they do not think this way but it would be nice to hear your opinion! I apologize if similar questions have come up...I scanned the thread and didnt see anything but i could have missed something. Thank you for your time!

Nervous. Seems like my numbers might not be up to par this cycle. Hopefully my application makes up for it. I'm feelings 60% chance of straight up rejection, 30% of WL, and 10% of acceptance. Ahhhh

The undergraduate major and the institution that it is from is very important. We look for people who have challenged themselves in tough programs and have done well. I think a lot of people start off thinking about med school either due to family pressures or a lack of understanding about what medical school really is. I don't worry too much about people who have switched out of that track, as long as their performance is strong.

Decisions will be going out in a few minutes. 83 Admits, 37 offers to the Wait List and 234 Denies. Good luck to everyone.

The next round will be going into review today. All files complete through January 10 will go into review with a decision on Friday, January 21st.
