They said they will consider late paperwork on a case by case basis, but you need to stay in contact with them on the status of your financial aid paperwork as well as let them know why it is late.

I didn't go complete until 3/3. Is there any chance that I will have a decision before 4/1 or at least 4/15?

How are interviews granted? The school requests them?

Re: Cornell waiting room
You receive the decision notification on the status checker just as you would with a WL/Accept/Reject. But when the letter comes, it highlights the fact that you are one of a lucky group of 150 individuals that have been selected for an interview. Generally, I think it has to do with YP concerns, as most of the interviews that I have seen have had relatively high numbers. Anyways, you call and schedule a short phone interview (although visiting is preferable to them) and then they get back to you with an answer in a few wks. I haven't seen someone go through with the interview without later being accepted.nyknicks wrote:How are interviews granted? The school requests them?

I think I remember hearing something about being able to request an interview if you are on the waitlist. Is there any truth to this?TheWire wrote:You receive the decision notification on the status checker just as you would with a WL/Accept/Reject. Re: Cornell waiting room
So you only need to fill out the Cornell FA sheet if you've been accepted?
EDIT: nevermind, called them and they said two weeks after an offer of admission.

I applied EA and was held to the regular applicant pool. My status has not been updated, it still says decision from 12/14. Was anyone else held to the regular applicant pool and if so, when should I expect to hear?

You'll be lucky to hear by April 15, most of us will hear after. Come join us in the EA Held thread.Rayjay wrote:I applied EA and was held to the regular applicant pool. I called several times today and keep getting a recording. Is it always like that?

I applied 11/9 also, been complete since 1/27. I am definitely an auto-reject, if that somehow helps you...rideaway wrote:is there anyone in this crowd who applied at the beginning of november (submitted my app 11/9, not EA) and hasn't heard anything? i've been complete since 1/21 according to the status checker. approaching the 5 month mark at this point and cornell is my top choice...

i'm probably an auto-reject too (168/2.9) but you would think they'd have done it by now no?

Re: Cornell waiting room
When are they going to start sending out $/aid notifications? Its less than a month before many deposit deadlines and it seems like they're waiting til late in the game to get those decisions out.

Managing expectations, but I would still like an answer sometime in the near future.

I spoke with them today-I went complete 3/2-and they said they were trying for a 4/15 notification for me. I bet with the one day differential you are right in there with me.asdfff wrote:I didn't go complete until 3/3. Is there any chance that I will have a decision before 4/1 or at least 4/15?

So I went decision last night some time - I didn't get an accompanying email so I should assume ding/WL right? My stats are far from strong for Cornell.

Re: Cornell waiting room
My status just changed to decision. It changed this morning but is dated 3/15. I applied late November and went complete 1/27.
No email whatsoever so I'm assuming it's a rejection. Not that it's a surprise w/ my numbers.
