Not sure... Sounded to me like the interviewer meant "made and communicated" since they're "winding down."Indy16 wrote:Does decision made mean “made and communicated” or just “made?”TLS2018 wrote:Just had JS1, and the interviewer said that HLS is aiming to have all decisions made by April 1st (which I guess includes today's JS1s). My theory on the next JS2 wave: I think JS is just resting up her vocal cords from an adventurous spring break and right now is sipping on a nice cup of hot peppermint tea (with extra lemon) and will start making more calls either later this week or early next week.

That will be a fast turnaround for those who interviewed today then (but I guess there weren't that many so totally possible). Can't wait for some movement!TLS2018 wrote:Not sure... Are acceptances usually called or emailed? This waiting game is rough!

The paranoid part of me thinks that this supposed deadline to hear something is just an April Fools joke.

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
FYI, there were 476 members in the HLS FB group on March 27 last year, and then (after the WL rolled out from the 28th to the 1st) there were a few more JS2s on April 1 (no foolin')
There are 396 non-Admin members in the HLS FB group now
My guess is that we'll see another large wave of JS2s this week (something that'd get us nearer that 476 number) and then there'll be a second smaller wave of JS2s during/after the WL, like there was last year
Just a guess, curious to hear others

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
I think that's a plausible scenario (just because) - I know the idea was floating around last year's thread that HLS was placing more people on the waitlist and issuing fewer JS1s/JS2s pre-waitlist. I'm not sure if that's also the case this year but I do feel like they've handed out quite a few JS1s in recent weeksrseaney wrote:FYI, there were 476 members in the HLS FB group on March 27 last year, and then (after the WL rolled out from the 28th to the 1st) there were a few more JS2s on April 1 (no foolin')

This. Lets speculate more on what JS has been doing (other than the obvious: counter-stalking her TLS groupies ITT and on this website).liz9332 wrote:My theory on the next JS2 wave: I think JS is just resting up her vocal cords from an adventurous spring break and right now is sipping on a nice cup of hot peppermint tea (with extra lemon) and will start making more calls either later this week or early next week.
I think that JS has been deep in hibernation waiting out the massive storms that transformed New England into a March winter wonderland. Now that the ice and snow are finally melting and the sun is shining she will soon emerge, eyes blinking and torpor receding, from her Cambridge cave in order to speak our fates.

Lurker checking in. Applied mid-Jan, complete 2/5, JS1 late Feb. Splitter, but with two LSATs and one much lower than the other. No JS2 yet.
My coping mechanism is to take the fetal position and rock back and forth. I also play the drums, and hitting things is very cathartic.

Looks legit, but I'm also highly dubious of a one-person wave. On the analogous day of last year's cycle (3/25, Tuesday after H's spring break) there were 8 reported rejections on LSN, but it's hard to extrapolate that because people may have posted them late.hermione1000 wrote:wait is there a ding today on LSN??

Congrats new JS1s! Looks like there will definitely be more JS2's before waitlists.
Edit: sorry I saw the guy in the Stanford thread and thought there was a bigger wave. Looks like there was some type of wave, though.

Some guy in the Stanford thread said he saw his DLS minutes before his JS1... Can anybody help to confirm JS1 sent today?

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
I read that as "minutes before my Harvard interview" rather than "minutes before I also received an interview invitation from H." Based on what people have reported their interviewers as saying, I doubt that H is handing out any more JS1s pre-WL.Oskosh wrote:Some guy in the Stanford thread said he saw his DLS minutes before his JS1... Just wanted to second the interpretation of "minutes before my interview", especially since we know there are interviews today.Oskosh wrote:Some guy in the Stanford thread said he saw his DLS minutes before his JS1... Can anybody help to confirm JS1 sent today?

Ah! That makes sense. See, when I see JS1, I think of it only as invitation. But I see what you mean.Auxilio wrote:Just wanted to second the interpretation of "minutes before my interview", especially since we know there are interviews today.Oskosh wrote:Some guy in the Stanford thread said he saw his DLS minutes before his JS1... JS could be reading our posts, marking our guesses on a calendar to try and figure out the ONE day we don't mention to start the wave.Eladriel wrote:This.
