That's probably it, too. It could also be that the admitted students in the previous thread were more supportive of the applicants who had not received a JS1/JS2. But really, that alone would not account for 200 pages. Clearly we are underperforming.

Maybe a new poll would liven things up? I dunno. Been pretty dead in here since the last big JS2 wave.
Also as for mascots, I vote for bushbabies.

I was going to suggest we shitpost too. I missed out on the September 2015 waiters thread due to cowardice/bewilderment but now I want the honor and the privilege of being lounged (from the Harvard thread no less) by the Mods.leslieknope wrote:I am always happy to do my duty and shitpoast in the name of filling up pages. Also, I've been reading through last year and there was a HUGE WL wave this week. Started trickling out Wednesday and Thursday before reaching a high-water mark Friday. Almost no JS2s. But I don't know if we can extrapolate from historical performance...

I haven't been on on a while. what's the consensus here? any way we're going to see some JS2's that pick up on stragglers still waiting on JS2's after JS1's in Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan?
or are all of them (us) destined for WL?

How about predictions on the next date for JS2.
I am betting on March 26. Here's

Looks like today is the last day for pre-waitlist JS1s
I predict JS2s will happen late this week/ early next week ahead of waitlist.

You are right about 3/26, but your methodology is a bunch of hocus pocus. I can't believe you believe that nonsense! Go with the science, you dingbat:bou wrote:I second the poll idea.mujiali wrote:Maybe a new poll would liven things up? I dunno. Been pretty dead in here since the last big JS2 wave.

i think this is a good guess. wouldn't be surprised if there were two waves -- the imperfect methodology of the HLS FB page has been belabored half a dozen times, but i do think it's telling that there are still under 400 membersMajinBuu wrote:Looks like today is the last day for pre-waitlist JS1s

Some of us admits still lurk on the applicant thread and cheer for you all!! I just don't want to prance around with my laurel admit crown while so many are still hoping. But since you asked for it..Oskosh wrote:It could also be that the admitted students in the previous thread were more supportive of the applicants who had not received a JS1/JS2.

How are we all coping with the waiting (other than being on this forum)?
I'm anxiously overeating/drinking/gaming and just in general letting myself go. Between waiting on this (which feels like a longshot) and on aid from other schools my nerves are pretty damn frayed.
And I swear to god if one more person asks me where I'm going next year....

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Honestly I'm just operating under the assumption of a WL/ding and I pass the time by doing research about other schools I've gotten into. It's fun to plan out an imaginary happy life somewhere I know is an option, and it's easy to get excited about that and forget about HLS in the immediate.Eladriel wrote:Good to know we're being watched.radio1nowhere wrote:Some of us admits still lurk on the applicant thread and cheer for you all!! I didn't get a call in the first wave after my JS1 and was a wreck - there comes a point when the anxiety is just too exhausting.

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
I only applied because I saved enough in fee waivers to justify the $100 ticket. My mindset was (and still is) that I'm not getting in (splitter). I was shocked and honored by the JS1 but the stress has been manageable until these past few weeks.mwonka wrote: I didn't get a call in the first wave after my JS1 and was a wreck - there comes a point when the anxiety is just too exhausting.
Now I just want to know so I can get on with my life.

Just had JS1, and the interviewer said that HLS is aiming to have all decisions made by April 1st, which I guess includes today's JS1s. Good luck everyone!
