okay so I have a totally obsessive compulsive question: When your status changes to DLS, does that change occur first thing in the morning? Right before the office closes? Or is there no discernable pattern at all? I'd like to figure out at what time of day I can stop obsessively checking....

It was in the middle of the day for me if that helps. Can't remember. Maybe around noon Pacific time?

tell me about it. a bunch of kids from my high school went there. insufferable. they were always making movies and stuff. but they werent funny. at all. it was truly, chest-pain, indigestion-like painful. and they loved dressing weird for the sake of dressing weird. awesome. so glad you decided to wear a beret to math class. most of all, while they were generally smart, they were never really smart enough to the extent that you would expect when a student decided to contribute 20 minutes of opinion to the class discussion. awful.

but sometimes that was the best part. in one of my philosophy classes this kid was gushing about how he read hobbes for fun until the professor said, "wait, back up. we´re talking about hobbes the philosopher, not the cartoon cat. i need to make sure you know that."
