I wish they would realize these are our LIVES they're affecting. Some of us have to make travel plans, figure out where we're taking families next year, weigh our options, etc. I can understand a school taking the time to make decisions, but once those decisions are made they need to put aside their pride in an outdated method of notification and LET US KNOW.

This wasn't directed at me, but I think that a lot of us who are in love with certain schools still want to visit the other ones before crossing them off our lists. Sometimes the visit can be very influential in the decision making process, so it'd be great to be able to buy plane tickets now if it's necessary. And the people with families need to bring the whole list of options to the table so that SOs know what they might expect.

Exactly. Chicago has been my dream school for a while, but does that mean I'm going to ignore Columbia (one of the best schools in the country) should they come calling? Absolutely not.

Just a general heads up. An ice storm is supposed to hit NYC tomorrow at 6 am and last until 7 pm on Wednesday. This may contribute to more USPS shenanigans. Meh.

I am so NOT excited about this.

I got my first piece of mail in a week today: a Michigan faculty thingy. No GULC thing, no NYU thing, no VCE or anything.

This is the worst waiting game EVER.

Finally got my GULC packet sent 1/26 and an NYU thing sent 1/28...

I have come to terms with the fact that if CLS sent me something on 1/24, 1/25 or 1/26 it would be here by now...will just have to hope they are doing it differently this year and there is another wave of acceptances coming.

Zilch. Got the letter from NYU postmarked on the 28th. Hopes are feeling rather substantially dashed right about now.

May need to begin the classic socal debate of NYU v. Berkeley, haha.

I am right there with you - this debate dominates my every waking thought that is not consumed by wondering if I will ever get a VCE

I have gotten no regular mail since early last week. Roomie and I each got a FedEx package but no real mail.

No VCE-just the Michigan admit package. Ann Arbor may be freezing, but I still <3 Dean Z's handwritten notes.

Last year, almost all early applicants would have been admitted by now (if they were going to be) and there are already about as many acceptances on LSN as there were at this point last year. Thus, I am not a believer in a future wave for early applicants, either.

Except there are just too many well-qualified people who are still VCE-less and applied early. With that plus bad weather, I'd say give it a week.

Way too early for this! I just looked through last year's applicants on LSN and there was definitely a second wave with letters postmarked 2/1 (which would be today for this year). People accepted who had applied 10/13, 10/26, 11/9 -- among others!

I gave up earlier today, so I am actually in a good mood. I am more concerned about scholarship from Penn and/or matching now. Have HYS at the back of my mind but I am moving to the selection process now.

That's where I am. My life would be perfect right now if only I had a Penn portfolio to flip through!!!

Ugh, still abroad and wondering if perchance they felt like sending a VCE here instead of my permanent address... and if they end up deciding to do so, how long it would take
