Haven't you ever tried to play a game without the CD in the computer? Did we all forget about no-cd cracks.Fiero85 wrote:chuckbass wrote:To do so legally!Fiero85 wrote:Do you though?chuckbass wrote:You definitely need one if you want to play zoo tycoon during classFiero85 wrote:Nahoshberg28 wrote:Looking to get a new laptop to be used specifically for law school - many laptops now no longer come with a cd/dvd drive; would this be a problem at Wash U? Any reason to require that drive for classes/exams?
Do you though?
(I bet those CDs are old enough to have minimal if any protection against copying to a flash drive or something, which could be done by the legit owner. I'm no computer nerd though, maybe I'm wrong).

Incoming class of 2018 -- where did everyone finally choose to live? I just moved into my apartment in Debaliviere Place and I couldn't be more excited!

I move into Central West End on Friday. Packing is exhausting, but I'll be excited once I'm there and unpacked!RareExports wrote:Incoming class of 2018 -- where did everyone finally choose to live? I just moved into my apartment in Debaliviere Place and I couldn't be more excited!

I came sort of last minute from out of state and thought Quadrangle was the way to go. Its all ready for you, close to campus, super convenient, pretty hassle-free. It will be slightly more pricey than some places in CWE but it will save you the search and the appliances inside the quadrangle apartments (as well as the apartments themselves) are all very nice/new, from what I have seen.

There's quite a few of us in the debaliviere neighborhood as well. Just stay away from Park Lux/Triumph on the Park/The Clara. Also i would recommend staying south of delmar this far east.

What's wrong with those places? I'm applying for next cycle. I visited the campus and surrounding area a couple of weeks ago and liked everything quite a bit. Just looking around this thread for some more info.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2018 Applicants
they are all managed by the same company and they do an awful job at maintenance and resident safety (anecdotal evidence sfrom friends that live there). As for Delmar, it's just not super safe once you're east of the loop area (more anecdotes). I have friends that live north of Delmar in the loop and it's totally fine.Scalvert wrote:What's wrong with those places? I'm applying for next cycle. I've had quite enough of living in a building with terrible maintenance, so that's good to know. Thanks for the help!

Confirmed class size is 205, for anyone curious. This bodes very well for our class and wustl in general.

I don't know if they send an e-mail, but orientation started Monday. I'd move on. Best of luck to you.Danimals18 wrote:Does anyone know if WUSTL will send that final "sorry, we can't accept you, FOAD" email to WL candidates?

1Ls that haven't picked up any or many supplements yet: hit me up via PM for a possible bulk distribution.

I'm not sure if this has been asked and answered, but to WUSTLers who transfered to non-T6: why? I just finished orientation, and I love this school. My classmates are all awesome, the professors I've encountered are amazing, and everything is awesome. I came in with transfer at the back of my mind but I'm sure outside HYS I'm staying put. Is it just for more OCI interviews?

Re: WUSTL c/o 2018 Applicants
Yea the problem with WUSTL is that the OCI is all preselect. So the top 10% is getting the bulk of the interviews, and this whole process is a numbers game, and a lottery OCI guarantees you get a good amount of interviews. Fwiw my friends that transferred that had good but not amazing grades are doing much better in the lower T14 than similarly situated friends that stayed at WUSTL. Even the move to GULC is really helping people.PeanutsNJam wrote:I'm not sure if this has been asked and answered, but to WUSTLers who transfered to non-T6: why? Re: WUSTL c/o 2018 Applicants
Is it a percentage of the class or a flat number for interviews? I'm thinking since class sizes are dramatically smaller, if the number of jobs remain the same, will there be more interviews?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
