Congrats! Now you have me at defcon 1....although, LSN seems to indicate that they're turning URMs quicker than non-URMs.CG614 wrote:I went complete on 2/9 and got my VCE last week. I'm getting scared those of us who applied in late january may have waited too long. Hopefully there are some seats left!!!

Got the "we're missing your financial aid paperwork email", and decided to withdraw this evening. Columbia's awesome, and despite my desire to live in NYC post-graduation, I think there are better places for me.

Re: Columbia 2010
I went complete sometime toward the end of January, I'd say no later than 1/26/10, and right now my status checker still says "complete" instead of "under review" or something like that! Does this mean they didn't even look at it yet? Or do they no have an UR status, and go straight from complete-->decision?
Even if they were going to reject me, I figure the status should have changed somehow by now...
Should I be worried about this? Not sure if I should contact admissions yet...

it stays at complete and never says under review, even after you're admittedhanabana wrote:I went complete sometime toward the end of January, I'd say no later than 1/26/10, and right now my status checker still says "complete" instead of "under review" or something like that! Got notice I am on priority reserve today. I'm pretty happy with that. I am assuming this is their vesion of a waitlist.
My wife said something about signing a letter of intent by late April. I'll see what it was tomorrow.

Received reserve letter today. I'm not counting on getting in but it feels great not to have been rejected outright!

Did it really say priority reserve? Mine just said "reserve" and specifically said that there's no ranking of applicants in the reserve pool.Sauer Grapes wrote:Got notice I am on priority reserve today. I'm pretty happy with that. I am assuming this is their vesion of a waitlist.

Probably didn't say priority then. I'm out of town so I haven't seen the letter.musicfor18 wrote:Did it really say priority reserve? Held. I received a letter today inviting me to send additional materials before the 31st. I think I'm going to send a sort of "Why Columbia" letter in the next few days. I'm honestly thrilled to even be held. I started looking at the website for Columbia Law around my senior year in high school, so to even merit careful consideration there is nuts.

Got a small envelope in the mail yesterday but I'm not home and my roommate won't open it because he knows it's bad news, WL sounds about right for me.
Edit: Just checked and it is reserve, as expected.

Re: Columbia 2010
I was "Held" back on Feb 9th. Mine asked me to submit any additional stuff by March 31st, and it said that they would have a decision no later than April 21.
You must have gotten something other than what I got, because mine didn't ask for any such letter (though I would gladly send them one). Anybody else know anything about this "priority reserve" business?Sauer Grapes wrote:Got notice I am on priority reserve today. I'm pretty happy with that. Damn. I'm a little surprised with your numbers, over both medians. Were you held first?big_blue79 wrote:Reserved 20 March via snail-mail.

I don't know about "priority," but "reserve" is a waitlist, whereas "held" is not. So yes, you did get different things.Z3RO wrote:I was "Held" back on Feb 9th. I withdrew and got a confirmation today, hopefully that frees up a spot for someone waiting. Good luck to all!

I too got the Reserve snail mail on Saturday -- great way to wreck a pretty afternoon. In at NYU, so if I want to go to New York, I'll probably go downtown rather than hold out for uptown, but haven't made a final decision on withdrawing yet.

No, but I applied 19 January. I am holding out and, since I will most likely end up at NYU, continue to hold.scribelaw wrote:Damn. I'm a little surprised with your numbers, over both medians. Were you held first?big_blue79 wrote:Reserved 20 March via snail-mail.
