how do the interviews work for Georgetown - do you need to be asked to have one?

some borderline candidates will be asked to have interviews, not all. it doesn't matter if you have one or not.

is it possible that they forgot to send our responses for DR 1/14 or is it possible that they have chosen to continue to review our applications? has anyone called the school to get any feedback on what is going on?

That means that the mail took 2 days to reach you in Cali from D.C., how is that even possible? Sent on a Friday, no mail on Sunday, no mail on Monday...they must have paid a lot of postage to get that letter to you that quickly.

DR 1/14 here.
Has anyone tried calling the office to "confirm" that the mail has been sent? I wonder if this would give us an indirect answer.

i hate to get everyone upset, but i just got an acceptance postmarked on 1/14 from GW and nothing yet from Georgetown. Not a good sign people. From the same city, if Georgetown had sent acceptances on that day they would have already arrived....

That blows... you got an acceptance from GW at 930 in the morning?? So... nothing in the mail from GTown again? I'm thinking the WL/ding emails should be arriving shortly..

I haven't heard anything, but my status just updated today to DR 1/15. It also says "Application Completed 1/20". Waiting.

I don't know - sometimes they don't send out mailings on the exact DR date.

Has anyone tried calling admissions again? Someone mentioned that a few posts up. Try confirming your address or something.

I would but I'm at work and too afraid.

I was a denier of 1/14 email theory yesterday... but ya, I think we get the WL/ding today.

I am annoyed now. If they don't accept people, the least they could do is give us some closure and the courtesy of letting us know in a timely fashion!

I'm with you. I really wonder what happened... maybe they're sending us "special" acceptance letters with an extra treat in the envelopes.

I hate snickers...if they sent me that I would be thoroughly disappointed. Perhaps a big fat scholarship offer?

Georgetown 2013/ (2014)

Post by CrimsonCal » Wed Jan 20, 2010 2:18 pm

Argh... I'm so annoyed right now, went under review late November, interview request late Dec, had interview about ten days ago, then went back under review on the 14th, then received this email today...
.
"Thank you for participating in our interview process for Georgetown University Law Center. The record you present is a strong one; however, the Committee on Admissions has chosen to postpone your final decision until they reconvene in the spring semester.

Each year, a large number of candidates submit applications to Georgetown Law early in the process. The high quality of this group makes the Committee's decisions extremely difficult. Please be aware that only a small number of early applicants have had their applications held, and a number of those applicants in past years have subsequently been admitted.

The Committee on Admissions will review your application again in January. No additional information is necessary, and The Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS) will continue to send us updates, which we will add to your file. A final decision will be mailed no later than Friday, February 26, 2010. "

I'm like, can you make up your mind, dam...why put me through the process of interviewing...I've never heard of people being held for review after interviewing...I thought they just waitlisted you, accepted you, or rejected you...

I never thought this law school application process would be so frustrating... it's funny that they say the committee will review my application again in January even though its the latter half of January, even my status check was updated to read, "under review" today, Jan 20th...

perhaps they're just buying time, argh..
yours truly,
Somber in San Francisco
