I know we've seen some stats about how many people are accepted off the waitlist... does it happen to be ranked? Probably a newb question.

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Back about 5-6 pages Pylon came up with some really useful numbers:
Even after the big wave at the beginning of March, HLS is still way behind in terms of accepting students this year. They've probably got like 40% of their class left to admit (give or take). There are (probably) going to be a lot more acceptances before WLs.pylon wrote:Yay for numbers! Feel free to play around with these and share interesting results.

Denied via email. It was always a long shot. Mostly glad I have one fewer status checker to check every day.
Good luck to everyone else!

Dinged just now. Not shocked - no JS1, submitted 1/5, complete 1/21.

Ub3r, iirc you had other good options.. I really lament the ding.
peace of mind, at the very least. I expect the same for me, but there is little to substantiate that belief, so only anxiety remains.

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
It looks like HLS has a good number of JS2s to hand out but JS1s seem done until the waitlist, judging from those numbers. Although, last year a few JS1s trickled out about the same time as the first big wave of dings following ASW. Small solace for some of us, I suppose.IngmarKurosawa wrote:Back about 5-6 pages Pylon came up with some really useful numbers:

Hey, thanks for the support. I do have solid options, I think, and it was gonna be tough to convince myself of Harvard at sticker anyways. It was, like many others, a matter of having a nonzero chance of getting into Harvard that led me to apply.Oskosh wrote:Ub3r, iirc you had other good options.. To those getting emails: are you getting them now, or were you in the wave of dings earlier this morning and just checked? I know it is a terrible feeling for you guys, but knowing this is informative for those of us still in the dark.

"I regret to inform you that after careful consideration of your application, the Admissions Committee is unable to offer you admission to Harvard Law School. This year we received a large number of applications from an exceptionally well-qualified group of men and women, and we have to turn away many outstanding candidates.
During this admission season, over 5,000 applicants are applying for a limited number of spots in our entering class. There are many excellent law schools in the United States, and this denial of admission to Harvard Law School is not a negative estimation of your potential to study law, nor should you allow it to be a judgment of your achievements. It is only the result of having many attractive candidates for comparatively few spaces in our class.
I want to thank you for your interest in Harvard Law School. I hope that you will accept my sincerest wishes for your future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Jessica Soban"

So if we weren't dinged today (yet.....), does this simply mean we live to fight another day? Or, are we headed to the waitlist? (which I would be completely fine with.)
Early Jan submit.

there'll definitely be more dings and more acceptances before the WL, so ya i'd just interpret it as living to fight another dayhumph wrote:So if we weren't dinged today (yet.....), does this simply mean we live to fight another day? By all the metrics we've got on the admissions timeline they haven't filled the class yet, so don't give up hope. I'm personally hoping that this last wave of dings means we'll be getting a wave of JS2s soon (tomorrow?)humph wrote:So if we weren't dinged today (yet.....), does this simply mean we live to fight another day? Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Looking at LSN from last year, there were three final ding waves on 3/25, 3/26, and 3/27, which included early submitters who had been passed over in previous ding waves. This was followed by the WL wave on 3/28.humph wrote:So if we weren't dinged today (yet.....), does this simply mean we live to fight another day? Or, are we headed to the waitlist? I don't think anyone's safe with HLS until the decision email/JS2 comes in.
