New avenue for unfounded speculation, when do we think the next ding wave will be?

The unbridled pessimism of the options is strategic and intentional. If history is any guide, HLS never does what is predicted on this forum. By not allowing for the possibility of a JS2 this week, we thereby bring about a JS2 this week. Of course, by acknowledging this in the forum, I have predicted it and undermined my own logic. So, I must again reiterate, there are no JS2s this week.KateMcKitten wrote:Yeah! *nods vigorously* there are no JS2s this week. Your logic is sound and unassailable and there is zero chance of JS2s this week.Pozzo wrote:The unbridled pessimism of the options is strategic and intentional. JS1 went good. Confirmed that we will hear decision back on or before 4/1. Also, one faculty member reviews your app after the admissions person sends it for review.

Congrats! Thanks for the info. Did they say anything about how many more days of interviews they have left?4'sup wrote:JS1 went good. Confirmed that we will hear decision back on or before 4/1. Also, one faculty member reviews your app after the admissions person sends it for review.

No they didn't. But, atleast regarding js1s, it dosent seem like there will be many more. I got my JS1 yesterday and today was the only day I could interview(which kind sucked because i had so little time to prepare). I'm also way below the GPA 25th, so it seems they are digging deep into the applicant pool at this point.

Dang. Yeah having that little time to prepare would have stressed me out, still just getting the interview is a great sign for you! I'm just below the 25th for GPA and LSAT, but I was really hoping to get a shot at a JS1.4'sup wrote:jhc14 wrote:Congrats! Thanks for the info. Are you asking JS1 splitters only or JS1s in general?CHyde wrote:If it makes you feel any better, they may be trying to manipulate their medians and your LSAT could be what puts you over the edge. It's not over until it's over. If other JS1s could chime in...are your LSATs above medians?4'sup wrote:jhc14 wrote:Congrats! Thanks for the info. And just gonna assume reverse splitters are fucked? *asking for a friend*CHyde wrote:Ok, based on a very limited data set (read a few PMs), it looks like HLS is still trying to boost their LSAT median through acceptance of splitters (read LSAT above 174, below 25th GPA).
I'm going to speculate that this may be related to their drop in ranking/dissatisfaction with current JS1 pool. Maybe they're running some statistical models as we speak.
This may explain why it has taken them so long to release this next wave of JS2s. Good news for splitters, bad news for below 173 lsat January and beyond applicants.
But who knows, I'm just BSing here.

Do you mean applicants in January on or JS1 in Jan on?
I agree with your hypothesis, especially given the drop in high 172+ scorers this year. It's messing with the admissions committee at HYS for sure.

As a splitter with a >75 LSAT and a ~25th GPA (and no JS1) I feel like softs play a bigger role than we thinkCHyde wrote:Ok, based on a very limited data set (read a few PMs), it looks like HLS is still trying to boost their LSAT median through acceptance of splitters (read LSAT above 174, below 25th GPA).
