Pretty sure this has been answered a couple of times, but lets go through the motions again. They are most likely waiting until after the 12th because by that time some scholly recipients will have withdrawn. Then they can figure out how to redisperse that money/pull more people in. However, significant WL movement will prob not happen until May, after their deposit for accepting admissions deadline.uconjak wrote:Any idea on their timeline of when they start pulling people of the hold/WL?

I didn't even bother asking them to re-examine my 15k. Remarkably stupid on my half or just a stunning example of that Northwestern humility? You decide.mrizza wrote:They upped me slightly. I didn't ask about my award either. I didn't think I'd wow them with the offers and be among that meager 8%cookiejar1 wrote:I didn't even bother asking them to re-examine my 15k. I received a sizeable increase - 60k to 75k. It is making the decision that much harder.

They didn't care much for my trying to negotiate with half as much money from MVP. I think their office was up really late responding to negotiation emails, and my response from Jill was terse to say the least. Not that I care, she was right, my leverage was weak. She called my bluff and I'm totally putting my deposit in at NU today.

Got the reply yesterday that my $105k offer wasn't moving and withdrew. Good luck to the rest of you!

Thanks! I didn't have a chance to send NU the UVA scholarship before they rejected my request, and I wasn't going to stick around and play the seat deposit game.untar614 wrote:UCLA? or did you finally get a better deal?TripTrip wrote:Got the reply yesterday that my $105k offer wasn't moving and withdrew. also withdrew. was never favoring NU -- the JD program culture is too MBA-ish...which is OK, just not my thing -- but would have considered it with a better aid offer. unfortunately, NU wouldnt match greater offers from higher-ranked schools. perhaps they too never favored me. good luck to those waiting still.

Except it's totally not. The MBA types are a distinct minority.orbotop wrote:also withdrew. was never favoring NU -- the JD program culture is too MBA-ish...
I hope that's not the only reason you didn't go here, because it's just not true. (Not saying that your decision was necessarily the wrong one for you. Price certainly is a valid consideration.)

Withdrew - hopefully the scholly money makes it to you guys.
Northwestern seemed really appealing, but the price just wasn't right

I'm not sure it's the most MBA-ish out of all the T14, tbqh, culturally or academically.

Withdrew earlier. Really loved NU but just couldn't stomach the 250,000+ debt. Good luck to everyone still waiting and congrats to those who committed!
