Section E really got burned this go around.

How can you tell before the classes even start?

I saw their course grid. At least they've got Hollander-Blumoff to offset Greenfield and Drobak.

I didn't know what the hell was going on the entire class fwiw, but by the end really loved civ pro and it was my favorite class after torts. Also my study strategy of just watching the freer videos over and over again worked out, so that's a bonus for the class.

Yeah people that I know that had Drobak thought he was fantastic.

I have very specific Osgood advice that will really help with his exam, but I'd rather share it with only a couple of you who I like that are TBD instead of just posting on TLS. But the rest of my profs (mandelker, Kim, Badawi, La Pierre) I'll help whoever with.

What can folks tell me about De Geest (Contracts), Norwood (Torts) and Osgood (Crim Law)?

Get good materials from folks who made 4.0+ on Osgood's exam, and ask them for advice. Only use the PAD outlines for him as supplements or to fill in gaps from your missed classes.

We've got Hollander-Blumoff, Drobak and De Geest in the fall, and Tamanaha, Blankfein-Tabchnick and Law in the spring. I've already heard great things about Drobak and Tamanaha, so any info on the others would be greatly appreciated!

Any info about the profs for Section F???

Without knowing anything about the new property prof., sections A&B are the clear winners. They both have Badawi (who is the man) and either Inazu or Osgood (who are both fantastic). And I'm sure the new property prof. has to be better than Mandy and Konig though prob not as good as Drobak. Still, best profs and no class on Fridays. Clear winners.

Edit: and B has Tamanaha and Mcgarian second semester. Game over. Only downside is having Levin for civ pro instead of Hollander-Blumhoff or Kim.

Who is F?

Hollander Blumoff you apparently can apparently read a supplement and crush the class even if you are noticeably missing from most classes. De Geest is super into Econ. One of the guys from E can probably chime in.

If F has the same professors as E, I'd put money on your section having the #1 student in the class first semester.

^ that above sentence shows my illiteracy. F will have a few students with very high grades. So will E if they have the same professor load.

2nd on the RHB advice, just make sure you tailor it to her personal quirks which differ very slightly from the supplements

Section D doesn't have class on Monday. I'd rather have Friday off due to bar review, but I'm glad to have a day off regardless. I have Greenfield for Contracts, Norwood for Torts, and Osgood for Crim Law.

This may be answered in the guides, but what exactly is the point of supplements? Does it cover stuff that the professor wants to hear on the exam, but that they don't teach? Or is it just another, easier, way of hearing the same thing. I'll buy them if I need to, but if they're not recommended then I won't waste my time.

Speaking of that, any good tips to save on books?

Tetris the basic purpose of supps, or at least the way I used them, is to simplify subjects that are complicated or that maybe the prof covers in a way that's hard to understand.

Oh, and do not mention stuff on the exams that the prof doesn't mention. Remember, you are taking the prof, not the material. This is one of the biggest mistakes 1L's make IMO.

Yeah I mean supplements really work for some people, but not others. Personally I skipped a lot of class, didn't really pay attention much if I did, didn't really take notes, just skimmed the readings and book briefed, but then went hard on the supplements and 4.0+ outlines from my mentors. That worked for me, but that definitely doesn't work for a lot of people and you'll find out what works for you.

Only had Osgood of those three. I really enjoyed his Crim Law and thought he was a great professor. One thing different about his class was that he had us do a research paper for 20% of the grade, but I think everyone did well on it.

ETA: I had RHB as well but can't really give advice as it was my lowest grade.

Oh I thought I failed LRM. I sucked but it truly does like nothing to your grade so it was fine.

Yeah, actually attend LP and give it a good faith effort. Also, doing the reading helps even though no one will ever check to see that you did.
