Re: UCLA?
He was completed by the end of September with a 160 LSAT. Not too big of a surprise although i thought rejections would come later on. But they did accept at least 1 ED applicant, so rejections will be soon to come. Going to be one hell of a Christmas....Mosca wrote:Anyone heard anything? Re: UCLA?
I don't think they reject you via email. If anything it would be from the snail mail. So as most places in the US have saturday USPS delivery, i would say yes and no, as they may send out rejection letters on saturday, but not on sunday. A few people seemed to have gotten rejected yesterday so i assume some locations will get this snail mail later today in the day. Hopefully i'm not one of them. Not necessarily. Even in California some locations will receive their mail late. Also depends on when you went to decision. Since UCLA doesn't share that information, we would never know if we were part of the previous, current or next wave, and will only find out once the letter arrives. Another person on LSN received their rejection letter today though. Now we wait til Monday then til the end of the December, unless we get waitlisted...Veritas wrote:if I were to be rejected would I have found out by now being in So Cal?

I don't think you'll get anything on Monday. Seems like they're handing out rejections now and everyone who got rejected thus far has a LSAT score lower than 166.jgulia45 wrote:Looks like 3 ED people have been rejected so far on LSN...mail on Monday can't come fast enough. i just checked my mail and nothing from UCLA, and I went complete before the peeps on LSN too. When did they say they would get back to ED applicants; december 15th?jgulia45 wrote:Looks like 3 ED people have been rejected so far on LSN...mail on Monday can't come fast enough. end of December (right around xmas). Although i think that if you receive any mail, it would be a bad sign. I think all acceptances thus far have received a phone call.jay115 wrote:i just checked my mail and nothing from UCLA, and I went complete before the peeps on LSN too. crackberry received his acceptance by snail mail w/ scholly info enclosed. He was the first UCLA acceptance posted on TLS though, I think. Since then only phone call acceptances have been reported.finalaspects wrote:end of December (right around xmas). Although i think that if you receive any mail, it would be a bad sign. Yeah I never got a phone call (or a missed call or voicemail or anything) before (or after) I received my acceptance packet w/ scholarship info enclosed.hopefulundergrad wrote:crackberry received his acceptance by snail mail w/ scholly info enclosed. That's good to hear. Hopefully you're not just an exception, or that UCLA has actually tried to call you but the call just never got through, so no missed calls or voicemail.crackberry wrote: Yeah I never got a phone call (or a missed call or voicemail or anything) before (or after) I received my acceptance packet w/ scholarship info enclosed.
LSN now reports 4 ED rejections. All their LSAT's are lower than 166 and GPA's are lower than 3.6.
For those curious (Official 2009 UCLA Numbers)
GPA (25th, 50th, 75th percentiles):
3.57/3.77/3.88
LSAT (25th, 50th, 75th percentiles):
164/168/169

Ronde, what makes you so confident about this? Certainly, there are going to be some people with 168s and GPAs down below the 25%...are you suggesting that on the strength of supporting the median LSAT score and being ED alone, they're going to get an offer of admission?
For the sake of this debate, let's assume a standing LSAT score of 168. There must be a GPA floor somewhere, right? -- the question is, where is it? 168/3.0? 168/3.3? 168/3.57?

Re: UCLA?
Looking at last year's ED on LSN, UCLA did not reject anyone with a 168 or higher BUT those accepted still had a GPA of 3.5 or higher. (UCLA's ED was about 8% acceptance rate last year)Jacques wrote:Ronde, what makes you so confident about this? As for regular admission these are the list of people rejected with 168 or higher, out of hundreds of rejections. (without counting waitlists)
174//3.08 170//3.4 168//3.51 169//3.27 169//3.4 170//3.3 170//2.55 169//3.17 168//3.94
That's 9 rejections out of hundreds of rejections.
Nonetheless running a search on those with 168-174 LSAT and 3.0-3.3 GPA, there are only 5 acceptances. All of the 5 had 170 or higher LSAT though.
All in all it's not looking too great for me with a my 3.1 GPA... unless they're very intent in improving their 164 (25% LSAT). And since they normally have a high GPA level, #13 in 75% gpa, and #7 in 25% gpa, hopefully they wouldn't mind sacrificing that little bit for the sake of raising their LSAT.
