has anyone heard about when they would be notifying people of accelerated JD decisions? I didn't know if this was on a different timeframe since AJDs would be starting in summer.

I can't double check this right now with the status checker being down, but I thought it said on it at the bottom that AJDs were not reviewed until February.fl0w wrote:has anyone heard about when they would be notifying people of accelerated JD decisions? I think I know what you're talking about, but that may have been for "2 year candidates" which i believe is different from AJD candidates (2 year candidates being those from another country with legal education pursuing LLM or something like that?).CyLaw wrote:I can't double check this right now with the status checker being down, but I thought it said on it at the bottom that AJDs were not reviewed until February.fl0w wrote:has anyone heard about when they would be notifying people of accelerated JD decisions? Oh. I didn't know about the LLM thing; I thought those were normally 1 year programs.fl0w wrote:I think I know what you're talking about, but that may have been for "2 year candidates" which i believe is different from AJD candidates (2 year candidates being those from another country with legal education pursuing LLM or something like that?).CyLaw wrote:I can't double check this right now with the status checker being down, but I thought it said on it at the bottom that AJDs were not reviewed until February.fl0w wrote:has anyone heard about when they would be notifying people of accelerated JD decisions? I think that's what they mean by 2 year candidates.

While I'm on the subject, any other Accelerated JD Applicants out there? Did you guys complete all optional essays? How do you feel about LSAC not sending your LORs in with the report?

Edit: Per Status-Checker
Application Status
Your application was received on 12/28/2009 and is currently being processed. Please allow up to two weeks for processing time.
I know it's literally just over 2 weeks since I submitted and it's probably my obsession/paranoia kicking in, but I'm wondering if anyone else took more than 2 weeks to show up as anything other than in process?

i submitted in early november and still have not received a status checker. so i'd say you're doing better than i am.
but, from what i can tell, they're really behind this year, for some reason. only ED applicants have heard so far, while there had been at least one wave of RD acceptances this time last year.

I think you should check. I didn't submit my app until mid-December and I got a status checker in a day or two. I'm assuming that's standard policy because my numbers are far from awesome.MirandaHobbes wrote:i submitted in early november and still have not received a status checker. so i'd say you're doing better than i am.

It may not say anything useful, but you should certainly have one by now.

in the meantime, anyone got a clue why nu is behind as compared with previous years, at least according to the decision dates listed on lsn.

Re: Northwestern 2010
a lot of schools seem to be behind compared to previous years. i believe its due to the increased amount of applications. Not necessarily an increase of qualified applicants, but it can also be more applications per person, an increase of overall applicants, as well as an increase of applications early on in the cycle which may be causing the delays. One school reported 40% increase, but this may just be due to people sending it early and may average out later on.MirandaHobbes wrote:they told me there was some issue with my app and i'd get one soon.Vegas_Rebel wrote:I think you should check. According to the admissions dead at Illinois, new applicants are only up 1.7%, while over all applications are up 6%. Not bad.finalaspects wrote:a lot of schools seem to be behind compared to previous years. i believe its due to the increased amount of applications. Some schools are getting 40%+, like Cornell and Iowa, and I can only assume people are going wild with safeties.
