I think the move is to just send an email to admissionsnyc4life wrote:This may not be the place to post but... does anyone know how to withdraw applications and decline offers of admissions at other schools if you got into NYU ED? Do you just send an email to the admissions team at another school or is there a place to do it on the LSAC website?

For borderline candidates like myself, do people generally go UR2 before DLS? I remember reading somewhere that UR2 isn't necessary for acceptance from NYU.

If you didn't write a why NYU I would heavily recommend writing one and emailing it to admissions office.albinododobird wrote:179/4.0AaronCarter wrote: What are your stats ?

Do you think that would be helpful at this point? I'm ED so should be hearing back this week. I feel like their minds are made up? Does it just go as an addition to your file?tinycatfriend wrote:If you didn't write a why NYU I would heavily recommend writing one and emailing it to admissions office.albinododobird wrote:179/4.0AaronCarter wrote: What are your stats ?

Oh I didn't know you were ED! I mean, here's the thing. It cannot possibly hurt you, and it might be helpful, so I'd go for it.notgettinghopesup wrote:Do you think that would be helpful at this point? I'm ED so should be hearing back this week. I'm surprised you even did ED with your stats. Maybe they're working on some scholarship for you? I'm ED too. Hopefully decisions come out by Thursday.tinycatfriend wrote:Oh I didn't know you were ED! I mean, here's the thing. Oh. I'm sorry about that. They might just think you're not actually considering NYU with your stats or debating whether or not to throw some huge scholarship at you to pry you from HYS.albinododobird wrote:Clarification: I did not apply ED.

No, no it's not 100% - there's little (and as far as I know, none) evidence NYU YPs. Plenty of people with comparable numbers well above both 75ths have gotten in without a why NYU - just check out NYU's LSN graph. Just be patient - it's still early in the cycle.tinycatfriend wrote:albinododobird wrote:Clarification: I did not apply ED.

Again, it cannot possibly harm you as long as you write a decent letter, and I'd hate to ever think, "damn, I could have done more."laconicllama wrote:No, no it's not 100% - there's little (and as far as I know, none) evidence NYU YPs. I do agree with llama - NYU has one of the highest acceptance rates of the T6. With a 179 of all things, OP should be fine. And if not, another T6 will swoop in with a love call. Honestly I'd just be sitting back and chilling.laconicllama wrote:No, no it's not 100% - there's little (and as far as I know, none) evidence NYU YPs. If this is true, then I guess tomorrow is the day. Especially for the ED people. My prospects don't look so good. lol. ymmvtinycatfriend wrote:Just so you know - NYU will be completely shut down from Dec 22 - Jan 3, so I wouldn't expect anything during that time period.

I applied on 11/7 and have been UR1 since 11/13. I got into two schools today so I'm hoping the NYU wave comes this week. It's a top 3 dream of mine.

Looks like there's a DLS wave this morning. Alas, I am not part of the wave, but a friend is!
