I'm abroad right now and can't get any phone calls -- should I let them know or is that too presumptuous? Congrats to all of the UR people!! Keep us posted, you should be going DLS on Monday or Tuesday. Those of you waiting for the next wave, it might be closer to the end of May if last year's patterns hold.

I think it is a bit presumptuous, so I'd suggest waiting for an email, voicemail, or checking the ASW once you've gone DLS but of course, you have to do what you think is best. As far as commitment I recall people having over a week to decide when the offer came this early, whereas the turnaround was a few days for those who found out later in the summer.sittykitty wrote:I'm abroad right now and can't get any phone calls -- should I let them know or is that too presumptuous? Seems like a pretty small wave though and I thought NYU's waitlist numbers were pretty good. Are you saying that's it for now? That would absolutely suck.SybillAnnDorsett wrote:Just going to keep convincing myself that admitting all of these high LSAT people will force NYU to take a few reverse splitters like me.

I'm really hoping for a few more decisions to go out this week.

posts itt but I think somewhere I compiled 2016 WL data. Maybe that'll shed some light on when we can expect another wave.

Yup; there's actually one more compilation post (I hate me, too) with dates of the UR waves. In essence I don't predict anything this week for those who've not already gone UR. The following week is a different story, though. Fret not mein fraulein.

Sybil do you know when is the next wave from past experience? Is it after May 20? Based on this year's patterns with NYU, it seems they are very erratic - so I doubt they would follow last year's patterns with admits off the WL.SybillAnnDorsett wrote:Yup; there's actually one more compilation post (I hate me, too) with dates of the UR waves. "I don't know anything", a memoir by Sybil, in bookstores everywhere tomorrow.
Really, no clue here whether they'll adhere to prior patterns but in the last three years there's been a wave in the first week of May and then in the third or fourth.

UR date changed again for me to 5/8.
I received the WL confirmation email and had UR 5/5. Stats are similar to others that were UR 5/5 (GPA @ 25, LSAT just below 75). Not sure how to feel about all this.

Re: NYU c/o 2020 -- WAIT LIST (Poll included!)
From the Spivey AMA:
WL activity is largely based on the individual school needs. This cycle is likely to see more schools concerned about LSAT, so splitters will likely be first. Schools often get overly focused on LSAT scores at or above their median so there will probably a large wave for reverse splitters in June or July. Then medians will all start to settle and solidify, and awesome applications or awesome softs will get cherry picked.

same, received confirmation email and had UR 5/5, now UR 5/8. I'm not a splitter though, GPA @ 50 / LSAT 25-50. so just ... average, or if anything slightly low. so there's hope for everyone I'd say, especially because places like NYU traditionally seem to have a fair amount of movement anyway.kvnrogers wrote:UR date changed again for me to 5/8.

Also went UR 5/8 today after being UR 5/5. Guessing this means no DLS for us today?blackbetty92 wrote:same, received confirmation email and had UR 5/5, now UR 5/8. It's likely tomorrow! Don't sweat it. Again, all signs point to acceptance, so try to just enjoy the build-up. Last year, there were only 7 pages on the NYU WL thread. Total. Ever. It is only day 8, and we have 21 pages.

Thus solidifying the c/o 2020 NYU applicant cycle as the Year of Collective Neurosis.chichi1992 wrote:Last year, there were only 7 pages on the NYU WL thread. Total. Ever. It is only day 8, and we have 21 pages.

Maybe we should mail them the print out version of the thread, and maybe they will accept all of us from the WL. Really crossing my fingers for the second wave.
