And apparently a courtesy to let him know he's in for a decent wait.potterotter wrote:Its him being transferred from the ED to the RD applicant pool. If it doesn't say Hold you're not on hold - they're really explicit about itnicola27 wrote:That's what I want to confirm, too... ETA: if they said April it might be an unofficial hold, but everything around being held said "HOLD" in really big letters last year so I'm just not sure it's exactly the same thing

LSAT = 75th, GPA < 25th, strong softs, RD, complete 11/8 here.
With all this talk about interviews, I haven't gotten any word back beside going complete and I'm getting worried. Are there a good number of people getting in without interviews?

Must be nice!canafsa wrote:No one knows. RD admits start in mid-January. I'm really not concerned in the least. I think interviews are going to borderliners and scholarship candidates.AFtoLawschool wrote:LSAT = 75th, GPA < 25th, strong softs, RD, complete 11/8 here.

I am pretty confident, it looks like almost all the people with my kind of numbers got in last year and the year before. Being a splitter sucks, but I have a lot of good softs, that make me feel slightly better.

Concur that no one knows and wouldn't worry either way...I'm not a splitter, my numbers are median or above but not high enough I think they'd be looking at me for scholarships, and I'm interviewing this week, so imagine it just depends on your particular app and if there's anything they want to hear more about.canafsa wrote:No one knows. If you don't mind my asking, when did you submit your application? I'm on the really, really low end of CLS's stats so I'm wondering if it's by admission index number or by date of completion. Thank you!nicola27 wrote:Just received an email that I haven't been accepted ED but will still be considered in AprilSIGH it was a long shot anyway. So do I consider this a deferral...?

Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
Finished my interview last week. This was probably my least favorite interview out of the ones I've done. It wasn't bad though. The interviewer was super nice, and the interview was probably the most casual one. However, like many on this thread, I felt like the questions were coming at me very quickly. I lost count of how many questions there were. None of the questions were odd or curveballs, but there was just a lot. It almost felt like I was being questioned.
Regardless, still an enjoyable experience! Just relative to the others, it would be my least favorite.
Went complete on October 17th, GPA>75th, 50th<LSAT<75th, RD

What other interviews did you take? I only took Columbia and I thought it was very pleasant.pandaaa wrote:Finished my interview last week. Still no Columbia interview for me =/ I wonder if it's because I submitted in early Nov. Odd since I had the Harvard and UChicago ones already. Anyone else in the same boat?

Similar boat here. I applied in late October to all three; have had a JS1 but still no interview invites from either Columbia or Chicago. Fingers are crossed though...taxman14 wrote:Still no Columbia interview for me =/ I wonder if it's because I submitted in early Nov. Odd since I had the Harvard and UChicago ones already. Idk about Chicago, but with Columbia I wouldn't worry about interviews with the numbers both of you have.Aquinas wrote:Similar boat here. But I hear for Hamilton you need to interview? Wasn't sure if it was a necessary componentmm2368 wrote:lots of people who get in don't ever get the chance to interview. it just means they don't have questions about your application.taxman14 wrote:Still no Columbia interview for me =/ I wonder if it's because I submitted in early Nov. I don't think it's necessary to interview in order to be considered for the Hamilton. My friend got the offer last cycle without an interview.taxman14 wrote:But I hear for Hamilton you need to interview? The only thing that confuses me about this though is that to a lot of the questions they asked, the answers could easily be found in my application. They didn't point out any inconsistencies or gaps in my application which makes me think there is a bit of randomness with these interviewers.mm2368 wrote:lots of people who get in don't ever get the chance to interview. it just means they don't have questions about your application.taxman14 wrote:Still no Columbia interview for me =/ I wonder if it's because I submitted in early Nov. I think for high stats for the scholarships they probably wanted to evaluate you, but for borderline it might be questions about your apppandaaa wrote:The only thing that confuses me about this though is that to a lot of the questions they asked, the answers could easily be found in my application. Ooh, just nabbed that CLS interview invite. Clearly, the takeaway here is that neurotic posting on TLS leads to positive real-life outcomes. Or something like that.
