Checking in! First of all, congrats to all of you that have already been accepted!! I had a question about Duke's Why essay. I'm sure most of you know what the prompt is but I'll put it here again for reference!

"You may submit an essay providing additional information about why you have chosen to apply to law school in general and Duke in particular. We are interested in the factors that have prompted your interest in a legal career and the ways in which you think Duke can further that interest."

So I already wrote about why I want to go to law school in my DS since it's tied up with my background...I feel like it will be extremely redundant if I give another explanation in my Why essay as well. Do you guys think it's fine if I just write about why Duke in particular interests me for the Why essay?

I'm hoping that the order of the essays they read is PS --> DS --> Why X since I don't want the adcomms thinking I didn't answer half the prompt lol

What?? Between the LSAT/car accident and the acceptance/hospital connection...I'm really starting to think the universe doesn't want to give you good news without shitting on you a little bit.

Stay safe, tort.

Yeah, i've been unlucky recently. But hell, i'll take good law school news in exchange for temporary bad life news.

Has anyone tried soliciting one? They haven't mentioned anything about it.

I called and asked since it wasn't clear on the website (after I was admitted, too scared to ask before), and they said that they do not offer travel stipends before admitted students weekend (UVA offers two stipends, one for ASW and one for some other time). I do not know how to get the one for ASW, but Im assuming they will send out more information about that when the time comes.
You fill out a form if you attend asw, at asw.

yes, that should be fine, that's what I'm doing! (though haven't submitted my apps yet but consensus on apps seem to be that we shouldn't be redundant)

Anyone else apply ED?

I love Duke, but seems like everyone here has been PT ("They gave me a PT so why not?"). Am I the only one that puts them #1? hahaha

For me they'd be #1 or #2 with a dank scholarship.

It's ten days after you go complete. Does not include day you go complete.

I was admitted on oct 9 after going complete 10/29
