barely any money from Fordham though :/
I think it depends on your interests. Probably doesn't make sense for Biglaw. From what everyone has been telling me on this forum, public interest employers (particularly public defenders offices) care less about the school and more about a demonstrated interest in the work and actual work experience. I'm still having the same dilemma (Cardozo v. Emory), but I think Fordham, in particular, would not be worth it for me.

Yah for sure. I mean I probably will end up attending my local state school (UConn) anyways because I don't intend to stray too far from the region in the long run (maybe CT, Boston, or NY), but Cardozo was mainly attractive to me because of NYC and legal internship opportunities there. But tbh I was more interested in Cardozo for NYC rather than for Cardozo itself, so maybe not the best reason to attend a school...If i do well at said state school, I probably can leave the region at some point and break into NYC and/or Boston legal markets. I just would feel more comfortable in the long run with a well known state school on my resume. Idk just my opinion!

Exciting news for us WL'ers! Did your status date change today?

Just the date change on 4/18 after the email. No date change today

Just called admissions telling them that I have other deadlines coming up and wondering what the timeframe for decision would be. Got told that they will forward my file to someone to get decision out as soon as possible. Eh, feel like this is going to take at least couple more weeks.

wait did the person who got an email on 4/25 also get one on the 17th? is this the same email as before just sent later or is it a follow up from the first email? I had a status date change on 4/18 and got the first email but haven't received anything since.

I am in the same boat as you. Got the first email, status change 4/18, didn't get the second email. In the first email it said they want to send people to the faculty so I believe the status change is them sending our applications to faculty (I HOPE)!

I got my first email on the 25th. I was put on the waitlist on April 15th so I probably got the same email as everyone else who got one on the 17th, just a little later.

Has anyone emailed Kathryn Espiritu and gotten a response? Wondering if she responds with that email or if its better to use the admissions email.

I'm happy for y'all who have been WL and are about to hear back. Hopefully that means I'll hear my initial decision sometime soon. Already withdrew from every other school except the one i put my seat deposit down for and Fordham. Feels weird to wait so long after hearing back from peer schools over a month ago.

I got a response from her! I used the regular email and cc'd her on it and I got responses from both.

Regular. They are taking really long time to get back to me.

She let me know that she forwarded my request to the scholarship committee but the committee responded before she did. It was a small offer but it was packed with so much scorn it was more of a dismissal than anything.

Applied back on 02/03, didn't go complete until 02/29, then had a couple of date changes, one each in March and April. Fordham was the last school I was still waiting on.

I applied in mid-Februry and this was my first status change. Hopefully we'll get our decisions soon.

I don't think so.. I called yesterday and they told me they are just starting to review the WL. But not sure if that's really the case because of all the status changes..

If they are starting to review the WL, I'm worried they have either forgotten about or have lost my application :(

I'm on the WL but very confused why they are reviewing if they haven't given out all the first decisions! Have you called and asked?

Is there any merit to this statement? I mean, Fordham Law is regional and is the only T1 non T-14 in NYC so I'm assuming there is some truth to this?
I don't think this is really the case. Top 20% at Fordham have a pretty good shot at biglaw without any nepotism playing into it and personally I don't know anyone who got their job this way. In fact, below top 20% you're probably going to have a hard time finding a biglaw gig regardless of who you know.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
