sorry to break up the hype fest, but have y'all seen this? A girl says she was 'molested' (her words, not belittling/doubting her) by a GTown alumni interviewer and then denied. What are your thoughts on the post/the responses?
I saw that earlier and the whole thing seemed odd to me. Not that it couldn't happen, but I don't know that my response to such a situation would be to make a post (my first post) about it on TLS.
I am confused about this Bob Guzzetta thing...I googled it and it seems to be a twitter about spousal abuse, but the winky face after each post suggests that they're mocking the issue? I can't figure out why the poster used the name Bob Guzzetta as her interviewer - is it to bring this Twitter account to mind, or for some other reason? Is there some cultural reference I'm missing here?

It's over my head, that whole post was just really weird and seemed to be about something else entirely - I think I missed something as well.

It's a troll. Someone has posted here before to trash someone named "Bob Guzzetta" and Georgetown; they posted under a different account, and at that time, someone had made 2 "Bob Guzzetta" troll profiles on LinkedIn (one claiming to be employed as a Grand Wizard of the Klan, I forget what the other is). I don't know what the deal is, but someone really doesn't like Bob Guzzetta. Nothing written here about him is true.

I would also advise not looking at any of the disgusting Bob Guzzetta Twitter accounts out of curiosity like I just did. Definitely a troll, why they chose to post here is very odd.

I would second that, the Twitter is very disturbing.

My numbers are low so I would be thrilled to get into any T14.

Biggest hype: UVA, GULC, Mich
Big hype: Penn, Northwestern

Cornell admissions folks have been pretty cold. I emailed admissions with a question and they responded with one sentence with a link that did not address my question. At the LSAC forum the rep lacked enthusiasm. I'm not impressed.

What did you use? I'm in the market for a dark lipstick.
Lipstick is one of the only cosmetics where I'll never buy the drug store stuff... get something for twice the cost that will last all day and look fly as hell or you're wasting your time. Even though MAC stuff is pretty garish sometimes their lipstick will go on and stay amazing even with eating and drinking.

Eh, I really like some of the Revlon lipsticks though.
I'm one of those people who stares at the drug store makeup aisle in paralyzed fear, trying to figure out what could possibly be the difference between "Colossal Volume" and "Volume Express" mascara and if I should be wearing blackest black or brown black or...ahh! I rarely wear makeup, so I'm kind of hopeless at buying it. If I were to buy lipstick I'd need to go somewhere like MAC so they could just tell me what to get.

I am. Not sure if it will be a LDR yet. My SO should be able to transfer offices - in major US cities only - relatively easily. He travels a lot for work, so weekend visits should also be relatively easy if I wind up at a more rural school. I do think it would feel strange going from living together back to a dorm, roommates, etc.

Are you basing your applications on locations he can transfer to?
No, his fear is that I wind up picking a school because it's convenient for him but it winds up not being the right fit for me --> me resenting him. So I'm applying broadly and will see what sticks. By the same token, I'm afraid of him moving because of me to a place that winds up being a bad career move for him.

I'm in a similar boat. My husband is also applying to grad schools so I'm really hoping we get in to schools at the same location. Harvard is, shockingly, a dream for both of us, but NYC is our ideal long-term location. Come on, NYU/Columbia!

I'm getting married in a few months, so we are being strategic with where I'm applying based on where he can get a job. For my job now, I travel all the time/work weird hours and it hasn't been an issue. A little worried about being a newlywed/1L, but I really will just have to focus on getting a lot of work done during the day. From what I've heard visiting campuses, many students give it the 9-5, 9-6 approach - i.e. they are focused on getting all their readings, etc. done during breaks between classes so when they go home they are pretty much done for the day.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
