You won't regret traveling. I just spent roughly 5 months in Europe, and now I plan on visiting most of the law schools I want to attend after applying, and then going back over there after the new year. I say travel! I have tons of recommendations, if you need any.

I think I will be quitting in May and then traveling a little bit during the summer. My sister and I had a post graduation plan to go to Europe which had to be postponed since I got a job immediately after graduating, so the hope is to be able to take the trip right before law school.
That's the right move. You'll be super relaxed, and have a lot to talk about with your new classmates. I'll be in the Scandinavian countries, plus Germany and Netherlands.

Probably quitting in May to travel (if I can save up enough). Any suggestions on low-budget, three-week travel destinations? I've been playing with the idea of doing Southeast Asia.

I really want to do Vietnam. Singapore would be really cool as well (basing this solely on the Anthony Bourdain episode).

I've only been to China in Asia, so I cannot speak on SE Asia, yet if I were you, I would look to fly into a smaller, less touristy country, and then take a one-way to your destination. For example, when I went to China, I flew into Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Nepal, and then took a One-Way to Beijing, which was almost $1000 cheaper than flying directly into China, and I had a 12 hour layover to explore some obscure parts of another country.

I think I would like to have it all decided before June.
There's so many great places to explore right here in the US. I would just do something fun around here for that month. Rent an RV and just road trip!

Agree with this. I took a cross country road trip after undergrad and it was absolutely awesome. We just picked the cities and national parks we wanted to visit and that was our only constraint.

Buffalo is an underrated, yet cheap choice. National Geographic named it #3 for Food Destinations in the world, it's a phenomenal drinking town with the moniker of becoming the Portland of the East Coast, and it's less than 30 minutes away from Niagara Falls/Canada.

Omaha during the CWS is a lot of fun. If you're looking for nature, you really can't beat Montana.

Really depends whether I'm offered good money during the first round of acceptances. Does anyone know how likely it typically is to get money if you're being accepted from the waitlist?
I think it depends on why you were waitlisted and the school's needs at that point. If it was YP, you can probably expect to get some good money. If you're a splitter or a reverse splitter and you're helping them hit a target, you can expect money. If they're letting you in because they like you or they feel sorry for you, probably not too much money.
