Yesterday I got my Duke decision and when I got the "Decision made;watch for email" notification on the status checker I lost my mind refreshing my email for the next hour until I got my decision.

I even paid $30 for a taxi back home instead of taking the train because I didn't want to lose service

That made me laugh out loud.

I did. UVA is really big on them, they want to know that you want to be there.

I didn't write a specific "Why UVA" essay, I just incorporated some reasons into my personal statement. I left room in my PS to add "Why X" info at the end.
I got in yesterday very soon after my interview concluded, you can PM me for more details if you want.

So would it be worse to not submit one at all, or to send it separately and just say I forgot to attach it (which seems like another bad option).
