got my scholly info as well. Less than USC too, but still very generous. PM if you's like to know dates/numbers.

i've been admitted and offered funding at schools i'd pick over living in LA, and the UCLA scholarship amount isn't enough to use as leverage in the other direction. there are a lot of things i really love about UCLA's program but ultimately i just don't think socal is for me.

verdict still out on the crazy. norcal born and raised so maybe i have #baylife genes? LA definitely has sunshine and tacos and joshua tree going for it, but i'm not nuts on the traffic and smog and general feel of the place. plus there is like no water whatsoever in CA?hereisonehand wrote:how is SoCal not for you, are you crazy?mwonka wrote:giantswan wrote:Just curious - why not negotiate?mwonka wrote:got my scholly info. definitely low compared to some offers i've already received. withdrew.

The traffic & air quality are admittedly disgusting, but drought or not, the tap will keep running and the beach is only a few miles from Westwood. I like the one-story strip-mall ugliness of LA but that's a matter of taste I suppose.mwonka wrote:verdict still out on the crazy. norcal born and raised so maybe i have #baylife genes? Does anyone think that not completing need access has something to do with not getting scholly? I know it's different t kinds of aid but I was admitted months ago with lsat>75 gpa> 50 and haven't heard anything. Getting nervous

I'm kind of hoping they wait a few days to see who's going to withdraw based on initial offers so they have more money to give to those of us who are still waiting.lawschool1741 wrote:Hoping so! No, not at all. NA is used for need-based aid only, which is awarded separately.MtnGinger wrote:Does anyone think that not completing need access has something to do with not getting scholly? I wouldn't worry yet about not hearing. It could be offers are made in the order of acceptance but it just as easily could be alphabetical order or order of LSAC account numbers or anything else or maybe just totally random.

traffic is bad, and LA is generally ugly and smoggy but UCLA has excellent air quality and is beautiful. school is very close to the beach and is right next to bel air for gods sakes!hereisonehand wrote:The traffic & air quality are admittedly disgusting, but drought or not, the tap will keep running and the beach is only a few miles from Westwood. Idk, but getting the form done helps the process move faster, even if it doesn't affect the amount. Had my Duke financial aid interview recently, and she said that already having my Need Access in was a huge help and should make things move faster for me as I will leapfrog people who haven't.MtnGinger wrote:Does anyone think that not completing need access has something to do with not getting scholly? Different school, different process, obviously. But thought I'd answer your question.

I think UCLA considers need and merit separately (unlike duke as far as i can tell). I completed need access and received a need based grant about a week after and have yet to receive any scholarship info. 50<lsat<75, 75<GPAMtnGinger wrote:Does anyone think that not completing need access has something to do with not getting scholly?
