As an admissions peep, you can adjust the parameters of the CRS search. So something like (for a schools with Wash U's medians for example) if LSAT 167 -169, gpa 3.5 and above gets fee waiver. If LSAT 164- 166, gpa 3.8 and above gets fee waiver, if LSAT 170 and >, gpa 3.0 and above gets fee waiver. Etc etc.

Oh, and I just posted some breaking news on twitter that may influence some of you all heavily in two year, and scottidsntknow is 1 year. I'll try to learn more on the specifics and post here or in the Q&A thread when I do.

Hey guys, I have a question re LoRs. I emailed both of my academic recs (there's no way I'd be able to ask either of them in person at the moment, for various circumstantial reasons) a little over a week ago, and still haven't heard a peep from either of them. One, at least, had sent me an out of office message--but is supposedly connected again as of a few days ago. The other I know usually has a little lag, but not this much.

So I guess my question is this: how long is appropriate for me to give them before I reach out again? Anyone have any advice?

...I hate asking for recs. Absolutely hate, hate, hate it. I'd much rather write like five extra essays or something.

Never underestimate how slow professors can be, especially during the summer. I'd wait two weeks from when you sent your email and then give them a call.

One of my professors took a full month to get back to me. I didn't read her LoR, but based on how my cycle went I'm pretty confident it was good. So don't take the delays personally or read too much into them!

Thank you for posting! I read the article and it did help a lot. So you can write a diversity statement on something you've already mentioned in your personal statement, but just go in more detail? How much is too much if already mentioned? In my personal statement, my main theme is overcoming adversity. I go through the different challenges that I've faced and overcome, but since the personal statement can only be so long, I wasn't able to detail much of each challenge. Should I take one and expound in a diversity statement? Thanks again!

Hi Kaycee -
That's not exactly what we meant to say - we are revising the language to be more clear. I would make sure that the PS and the DS are different from one another. It isn't necessary or helpful if you repeat the same theme in both statements, so be careful there. Writing a PS is not an easy exercise, I know, but you are good to be working on it now. Keep at it!

Cheers,
KB

Checking in, my top choice is Berkeley but with my GPA and my inability to hit my top scores on the real LSAT I doubt ill be going.

My realistic top choices though are USC and UCLA but it depends on how well I can do on the LSAT in sept (only sitting at their 25 percintile for both GPA and LSAT right now)

Next choice for me would be Notre Dame, the Catholic football fan non big city lover in me wants to highly consider this school

My safety schools are likely UC Davis or Hastings which im pretty sure im a lock at both

Scribbling down PS ideas and feel pretty good so far.
Hoping to get a solid draft by the end of this week or next. If anyone wants to swap, let me know.

Has anyone else received that email from WUSTL with the fee waiver saying if you apply now they'll consider it for this cycle? Anyone thinking of doing this?

This seems kinda TTT to me too, especially after offering deferrals. Maybe their medians still aren't where they want them.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
