It's a phone call waitlisted applicants (I think only those who had a pre-WL interview) get the day or so before being admitted. It's done for yield protection purposes, and basically if you suggest that you'll go to Harvard you get in
Word. Thank you. Any thoughts on whether the 24-hour homework is something of a replacement for the JS1-B? Did JS1's this week pretty uniformly get the "homework?"
I had my interview today. I am a post-WL JS1, probably because I submitted late in the cycle. I didn't get the homework, but the interviewer specifically asked me how committed I am to go to H. Did u guys get asked the same question? Or you only got the homework.

I was asked how committed I am to the school where I deposited and how a Harvard acceptance would change that. Then I was given the homework.

Well I said that H is def my top choice and I would accept the offer without any doubt. Maybe thats why I was "exempted" from doing the hmwk. Anyways lets hope for the best and good luck to y'all. Cheers!

First post...February complete. I also told my interviewer that I would definitely attend Harvard if I was accepted....but was also given her email address and asked to " do my homework" and send in a confirmation of my commitment via email within 24 hours.

Just curious... did any of you who said you would definitely attend H deposit at Y or S? I did, and I think it's a bit of a handicap in this situation.

That's weird. Did you interview with JS? I am starting to get worried that I might have missed that homework part.

Did you tell your interviewer that you've deposited at one of those schools? Telling them that you've deposited at Y/S and admitting that you're not sure if you could commit to Harvard is going to raise a big red flag imo.

The very first question I got was "Where did you deposit?" so I couldn't really avoid answering it. Question 2 was, "What was it about S/Y that made you want to go there?" It was a weird way to spend the first few minutes of the conversation.

I'd like to know too. I haven't seen any other acceptances reported.

I'm not sure about this.

I got the sense that they were looking to admit post-WL JS1s late next week.
Unless the acceptance is a pre-WL JS1 (I didn't check)?

It is a pre-WL JS1, but I didn't think there would be any JS2s until at least next week (adcom at ASW suggested they would start around the 15th-20th), and I haven't heard of any other WL acceptances. I pm'd them so hopefully they can clarify.

Sorry everyone, someone else must have changed my status on the spreadsheet. I haven't heard anything new since the waitlist invite.

I'm sure you could just send it to the regular HLS admissions address: jdadmiss@law.harvard.edu

It'll get to the right people!
