The fb page isn't available until you have paid the second seat deposit, despite its june 2nd due date.. I believe you have to added by an admin, which is currently the admissions office and will then be turned over to the student ambassadors at some point.

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
This is silly, given the admitted student website says:beegnar wrote:The fb page isn't available until you have paid the second seat deposit, despite its june 2nd due date.. "Every year, the Carolina Law Ambassadors (CLA), one of the law school's fifty-plus student organizations, administers a Facebook page that is available to admitted students after they submit their first seat deposit. Invitations to register and participate in the Facebook page are e-mailed sometime after May 2, 2014."
(Emphasis mine.)

Whether it's first deposit or second deposit, it seems silly that they keep it on such tight lock.beegnar wrote:The fb page isn't available until you have paid the second seat deposit, despite its june 2nd due date.. Has anyone e-mailed and pointed this little detail out? I would, but I already nagged them about getting the fb page up and running in the first place...

I confirmed with them that it was only open to second depositers, then responded by pointing out the verbiage on the site.beegnar wrote:ltrego wrote:This is silly, given the admitted student website says:beegnar wrote:The fb page isn't available until you have paid the second seat deposit, despite its june 2nd due date.. They updated the site to reflect the new policy. Not sure when that update was made. Google has it cached on Friday as still saying the first seat deposit, and I didn't check it this morning. I'm glad they changed the verbiage to avoid further confusion, though!

As a waitlisted applicant do you guys think it would be advantageous to stop by and ask about the waitlist? I'm in the area for a few days and was thinking about it.
Has anyone else waitlisted gone? With low-ish stats, OOS, idk how helpful it would be, but I doubt it could harm anything!

Does anyone have any idea when they will be releasing their scholarship reconsideration?

hoping to find out about this soon as well.thp25 wrote:Does anyone have any idea when they will be releasing their scholarship reconsideration?
perhaps after they fill up their class and take a look at their numbers.
has anyone contacted financial aid office and attempted to negotiate or ask for consideration?

I contacted them but did not really get a concrete answer, just that they would be reviewing people again "soon."apples89 wrote:hoping to find out about this soon as well.thp25 wrote:Does anyone have any idea when they will be releasing their scholarship reconsideration?

Any WL movement? Anyone thinking about not putting down a second deposit that already put down the first one?

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Went for my visit today. It sounds almost certain that they won't be opening the waitlist until after the second deposit but they are anticipating opening it after that, being mindful of meeting their goals with regard to demographics; in-state vs out of state, male vs female, etc.pketpket wrote:Any WL movement? I was told UNC didn't reconsider scholarship amounts and that offers made were final. Are yall finding the opposite is true or am I missing something?

I think they just reconsider those who were not offered a scholarship initially.beegnar wrote:I was told UNC didn't reconsider scholarship amounts and that offers made were final. Are yall finding the opposite is true or am I missing something?

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Did everyone get the WL email? Looks like it will be moving soon.
"We have reviewed the commitments to UNC and are now determining if we need to add more students to the class. We will begin contacting students shortly as we make decisions to add students. We will be leaving our waitlist open until the first day of class and reviewing the status of the class until that time. We will close the waitlist on the first day of class and will notify everyone still remaining on the waitlist that it has been closed when we do so."

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
^yes
The email reiterates the same general stuff. Don't contact them at all about your status or the status of the wait list. My question is if they may pull from the wait list until the day before class starts, what does this mean for financial aid if the law school you start at begins earlier in August? Can the grad plus loans be transferred? I feel like the answer is yes, but not certain.

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Hi, folks. I know there are a LOT of people eagerly awaiting the news I just received; I have been admitted off the waitlist as of this afternoon. I just want you all to know that I desperately wanted this -- UNC has been my first choice all along even though I applied to higher ranked schools -- so this seat is going to a good home. I'm totally in shock and wish everyone the best as you wait.
And because I know somebody will ask
... 164, <3.0, 8 yrs work experience, in state. I had planned to submit a LOCI tonight, so I didn't send any additional materials after my initial application.
And because I know somebody will ask

Congrats to all who've been taken off the WL.
Maybe you could also let us know how long you committed to remain on the list (mid July or late August?).
