I thought about this, but that would reduce the utility of the analysis we can do on the numbers, and add the possibility of user error and variability in the data.

I made it so you can input literally any username you would like - so there is no way anyone can see who put in what data. From my end all I see is a bunch of anonymous users (anonymous1, anonymous2, etc.).

Yea, it shouldn't matter, unless you're like me and put your actual name in there. I've now edited it, but even if an adcom trolling around this site, there's no information on there other than things they already know (e.g. they accepted you so they know they accepted someone with an xxx lsat and x.xx gpa).

There is no reason to use ball park numbers.

Lawschool22, just curious, when making the spreadsheet, what did you have in mind for the distinction between "unique" softs and "above average" softs?

For me, Unique would be the type of softs Yale would hype in its materials. Maybe I should change it to Exceptional? I could see how Unique may be misleading. I was thinking Astronaut, Nobel peace prize winner, published author, Afghan refugee, child of a President, etc. You can think of it on a 1-5 scale basically. Obviously this is hard to judge as it is highly subjective. But hopefully we'll get a bell curve (although I doubt it because TLS is somewhat self-selecting).

This made me think that you should maybe change is to add in a work experience column, and be able to select none, good, bad, etc. I considered mine softs, but I really have no softs as far as this goes. I definitely think my work experience helped me get in tho.

Well, I will certainly help with the curve on some other stats This is definitely a reach school for me but I have fingers crossed! I say leave it as is. That makes sense. I do think that I have something that makes me pretty unique, but it's not astronaut status, so I will keep mine as is to stay in line with your intended meaning. Thanks for making the spreadsheet! The "average days" section will surely keep me sane after my group interview next week.

Thanks for the kind words! I will work on porting it over. It's currently live in the Chicago and NYU threads. I wonder if it would make sense to start a "master" thread that has links to a sheet for all of the T14?

It will be a bummer to have all the time I spent learning to excel without a mouse go to waste if I go to law school.

My recommender was sent an email. It seemed pretty general. Georgetown acknowledges the time professors and employers put into letters so wanted to thank them. That is probably why you had to fill out a recommender section so they could directly get their emails. One of my LoR writers got an email two days after I went complete.

I read a thread that sometimes Georgetown will email a professor congratulating you on getting into the program. Just a nice thing to do!

Got in about a week ago. Haven't seen the letter or anything, made the mistake of sending the letter home instead of to my university. Parents just opened it and saw that I got in. Did ED.

It is a work in progress but at least will allow for us to get the data going. I will add some analysis to it when I have some spare time.

From what I've heard from most schools is that you shouldn't submit a DS if you already cover the topic in your PS:

However, one my friends who's working in a T14 admissions office says that he believes people should try to take advantage of the optional statements as much as possible. So - maybe write one if you can think of a way to write about your diversity in a way not addressed in your PS?

I didn't write any of the optional essays, and I'd say I was a marginal candidate at best. YMMV though.
