I'm more ticked that one of my fellow admitted students decided it was okay to release the spreadsheet to a news organization. It's hypocritical to raise a fuss that the institution released information that you voluntarily provided to them and then turn around and release the information of 400+ people to a website.

That AgLaw forum post contained a really poorly redacted screenshot of the list that still showed about half of everyone's names.
Just so everyone is aware, I did not and would not post anyone's personal information on any website. There are a lot of Aggies on the list... statistics are one thing... but I don't want my address and phone number on there just as much as the rest of you

Tried to call the number where it says to get one, and it just goes to a voicemail even though it tells you repeatedly that they open at 8CST....hmmmm?
ETA: Also tried filling out this form...can we still use it even though it seems to be for younger kids, its asking for school district and saying "my child"?

Haha sorry, wasn't implying anything. I was thinking of that, came here to post and saw yours.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that it was you. I forgot there was someone here actually named 'AgLaw.' I was referring to the forum it was posted on.

Luckily, I'm not on the page they screen-captured. But, this is getting ridiculous. I'd like to know what Baylor is going to do to ensure the information is not posted on the web. The whole comment of "we've taken steps to make sure this doesn't happen again" is asinine. 1) Our info has already been released to 3rd parties without consent, so the interest is more damage control than future procedures. 2) What process improvements could they possibly have taken in 7 hours? Not attaching sensitive, federally-protected personal information on emails?

I'm a little bit more angry now that someone gave the information to websites and is posting it. It is absolutely shameful and unethical behavior and reprehensible.

Okay I just got of the phone with ED and got instructions for what we would need to send in to file a complaint with FERPA. I can go ahead and do it but I guess PM me if you would also like the information. Maybe we can flood them with it.

So I'm really perturbed that it was posted online....really, really perturbed... especially if you're the only person from a particular school on that list who got a scholarship to Baylor....

R86 wrote:Since it's already getting out there, is anyone willing to share a spreadsheet that ONLY includes GPA, LSAT, Index, URM Status, and Scholarship Info?
I don't see how that would disrespect anyone's privacy moreso than has already been done, and I think there is something to be gained/learned from a careful analysis of the aforementioned data points.
Sorry that you all have to go through this, by the way.
I agree about the URM part - I think that is the *only* information that could prove useful as no one really knows the boost they get. Everything else is pretty straightforward. High LSATS and GPA above Baylor median = high scholarship offer
Although, I have to say, it won't be me to post it! I'll fully admit that I don't have the balls too but more importantly the time to edit all of that.

Yeah, it's definitely not a list of all accepted students. I didn't get the email because I withdrew but I was worried my information was still on there and it's not.

Maybe it's only a list of accepted students who have not put a deposit down and haven't withdrawn? Wasn't the email about extending the deposit deadline?

Yes, it only lists the accepted students that have NOT put down a deposit yet. Those that have withdrawn their acceptance or already put down their first deposit are not on here. Be happy you were left out

I don't know if the withdrawn part is true. One of my friends who withdrew is on there. I haven't sent anything in and I'm on there. I don't know what the criteria was for being on this wonderful, informative, privacy-breaching spreadsheet but I'd be thankful if I were you!!!
