i can only agree because it worked. If it hadn't worked out it would have been embarrassing, but the guy had been unemployed for 2months and he knew he wanted that job and that he was qualified so he just decided that he was going to force them to either hire him or have him arrested.
or did you mean that the job is pretty bad ass? in that case, yes. It's awesome. The company is based in Spain, but has their international office in the US, and they make some amazing products that he gets to test during prototyping, which basically means that part of his job is to go mountain biking a couple times a week and tell them how the product could be improved, and to race his road bike on the weekends and let them know how it goes.
Lol I meant both. I'm a fiend for exercise and it is great to see that persistence pay off. But I do agree, if it had not worked it would have been embarrassing haha

I'm almost positive it's April 15th, but I'll have to double check when I get home.
I concur! $250 on 4/15.

Is this date in the acceptance package?
Thanks.

I was admitted late (like maybe 1-2 weeks ago) and my packet says it's due May 2.

I still haven't heard back from ASU. Is it safe to say my chances are pretty poor at this point? Or could I possibly be a borderline case?

While I cannot see your numbers, I can tell you I have a friend with stats nearly identical to mine who has yet to be accepted and I am in with $. I am confident this person will get in with a possible scholly offer so I am sure they are still handing out acceptances. ASU is notoriously slow with their admissions process so if your numbers are on par or better than the averages I would not be too worried. Earlier in the thread someone asked the addcomm about a decision timeline and posted the findings (I am too lazy to go back and look it up) but it seemed to say acceptances would come through the end of April or so.

I am. Arcadia or central Phoenix. Facebook is dumb.

Edit:but yes, I'm pretty sure there is a Facebook page. You just won't see me on it. I don't put ketchup on my hot dogs either.

There are a bunch of appartments right by the law school including some pretty cool looking MSM ones (on that little side street where the light rail runs east from the law school). Live there.

Living as close to the school as humanly possible your first year has an importance that cannot be over-emphasised.

I will be. I am going to live in the new towers called West 6th, hopefully, still waiting on my credit check to return. I wouldn't recommend living to far away from Tempe, just because traffic can be pretty terrible. My family lives in Glendale/Peoria and it took me over an hour to get there from ASU the other day.

Where to live depends a lot on the lifestyle/environment that suits you best. The commute from central phoenix is about 20minutes, even in heavy traffic. Personally there is no way i would ever live in tempe or scottsdale, but the people that would be happy in those places probably would not like my neighborhood. My suggestion would be to visit phoenix, try to find a native and/or a good realtor and take a look at the different neighborhoods. They are each very different, so where you are happy will depend on you.

For a studio apartment, what is market rate? I'm trying to decide between trying to sublet and getting my own apartment. Any thoughts on this?

Depends ENTIRELY on location, and I don't just mean tempe v. phoenix. v. scottsdale. I mean there are neighborhoods in the phoenix area where you can cross the street and have home values triple. Also depends on the apartment complex itself. How new is it? How nice? are there any amenities like a gym, concierge service, etc? I believe in Tempe/Scottsdale you could pay anywhere from $300/month for a place with holes in the carpets and 45 people living in the adjacent unit up to $1200/month for a beautiful place on the "lake." (more like an irrigation canal, but they call it tempe town lake).
I realize this isn't helpful, but I guess the point is that it all depends on how much you can afford, and what are your priorities in looking for a place.

Thanks for the link Capitol

While we are on the topic of places to live, is there any way to find other law students seeking roommates?

The Blackboard site for admitted students has a forum, and there is a topic for seeking roomates. I don't know if anyone looks at that though. I posted a question on one of the other topics on that forum and no one ever responded.
As much as I absolutely HATE to promote it...There is an admitted students facebook page. That might be somewhere worth checking.

Gaud-You live in Phx now, right? what area? Will you keep living there once school starts? Do you know what your commute time is going to be like? I'm trying to decide if I'm going to drive or light rail to school. I'm leaning toward driving because it will take me about half as long, but I hate traffic, and the light rail would allow a little time to relax or study or whatever while I'm commuting. Just looking for opinions of others who are familiar with phoenix transportation.

While true to some extent, you should be able to find a decent studio apt for 6-700 a month virtually anywhere.

Totally agreed. The original question was, "how much is an apartment?" and my point was that you will be able to find something that suits your needs, but guessing at a price is difficult without knowing specific needs.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
