Commuting is a bad idea. That is two hours of studying that you will not be doing, that your competitors will. Try to get something closer if possible, it will really help.

Well I'm gonna stay a couple nights a week at my parents house to cut down the commut and might also take the train occasionally to give myself more study time

So what's the point of posting that article on this thread?Nacirema wrote:http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/17/busin ... fb-nytimes

Not a Chapman student, but spent some time this summer doing research/work there. Beautiful facilities and seems like a great community. Wish that Bruxie place was in the town I lived in. So good.

This might be unconventional and a tad bit OCD, but could someone recently admitted off the waitlist PM me their stats? Just to help me make some decisions.

Ok so I realize that came across as trolling...so fml I apologize.longhornlaw wrote:blackswan wrote:

It was not meant to be mean spirited at all. I go to Chapman, I love Chapman, and I want you guys to succeed at Chapman. However, I came into law school thinking I could beat the recession, and I discovered there is a surplus of lawyers and it is really hard even graduating with a J.D. I only wanted to post that article because I know there are recent "admits" who are considering whether they should attend law school or choose a different career. I believe it is perfectly relevant for entering law students to read an article about how law schools function, and how unattractive the job market looks.
With that said. I sincerely, want people at Chapman to succeed and I will be around if anyone wants help!

I got in at the other two schools I applied to (late as well) and would rather go somewhere that can process an application and give me a decision within five monthshomerless wrote:Man this is taking forever. Anybody else still waiting?. I'd have more respect for a place that flat out denied me rather then string me along thinking they are so desirable I will drop everything to go there.
LOL. They emailed me 7-5 asking if I wanted to stay on the wait list. I emailed back that day saying, "No, drop me off the wait list." Today I checked to make sure it went through. On 7-8 they updated my status checker to "Denied."

Re: Chapman 2011!
Which closest competitor are you choosing over Chapman?
I just received notice this morning that i'm on Chapman's waitlist...
I wish i knew what my chances are considering it's so late in the admissions cycle.

ive been on the waitlist for almost 3 months and also am probably about to officially commit to the closest competitor. at some point, you have to plan in order to give yourself a reasonable amount of time to get situated.GueritaPeloChino wrote:Which closest competitor are you choosing over Chapman?

With all due respect, being number 2 from Chapman will only get one into UCLA is not very exciting. It's a huge leap but still not clear t14 school.Nacirema wrote:Hey guys if anyone was curious about transfering out from Chapman read my past threads.

I'm actually quite surprised by this. Being #2 in your class is quite an accomplishment. I'm guessing your LSAT and other factors are still being weighed when it comes to the heavyweights.

Re: Chapman 2011!
Received my acceptance to Chapman about a week ago, and it was definitely a game changer. I had been planning on McGeorge, but received a much better offer from Chapman. So, as of now, it looks like I will be moving to Orange this summer

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
