Scholarship today via email. 24k a year. Haven't actually got the letter but I called and they let me know the amount.

24/yr? That's it? You would have gotten 20 from wake alone, a MUCH better schoolClutchCity24 wrote:Scholarship today via email. 24k a year. Haven't actually got the letter but I called and they let me know the amount.

Just trying to verify: you got the same "you received a scholarship and will get the amount in the mail" email as everyone else? Did they seem at all reluctant to release the info over the phone?ClutchCity24 wrote:Scholarship today via email. 24k a year. I got that same email. They asked a few questions to verify that I really was who I said and after about 3 minutes on the phone they told me and said the letter would be arriving shortly. They were both very helpful and quite nice. I would not have been able to wait for the letter.

Thank you, I will plan to call them tomorrow. I can not wait for the letter when it would be over 2 weeks until I would see it.

I sent an email saying that I would not be home for the next 2.5 weeks and I'd be in Florida over the break and the scholarship info would help me find housing. They then promptly emailed me the statsMpeterson4 wrote:Just trying to verify: you got the same "you received a scholarship and will get the amount in the mail" email as everyone else? stupid question, but is there a meaningful difference between being waitlisted and your application being "held?"

Rejected yesterday, but UM was my reach school so it's fine with me. Maybe I can transfer in for 2nd year if I'm still interested. I'm not too keen on working for a big law firm, though. I'm pursuing a law degree merely to further my own business interests, so maybe its better I just hit up FIU and save the coin? We'll see. Best of luck to you guys!

In with a 165/2.7 as of early December (1st or 2nd), could use about 20 G's/yr to make this an interesting decision. Have not heard anything yet. Not sure if my GPA is too low (valid GPA addendum), but I'm not paying sticker at Miami.

Just got my scholarship info in the mail. I'm way above both 75ths and was awarded $24,000 a year. There's a 3.2 GPA stipulation, but I have no idea what that means because Miami doesn't explicitly say what they curve to, and I'm not math-y enough to figure it out myself.
Anyway, withdrawing. Good luck to everyone waiting!

In via email. Miami seems to think that I've accepted their offer, as my CaneID page is congratulating me on my decision to attend. Why is that? I might actually end up at the U if I can find like 20 other students willing to throw down to live at the Jersey Shore house.

I got 24k/year here. When is a good time to contact them about possibly receiving more scholarship money? My gpa/lsat are far above their 75th percentiles; not to sound like a jerk, but I would probably only attend The U with a full-tuition (or close) scholarship.

^^I feel the same way. I got 24k from them, but paying about 14 out of pocket combined with a much larger cost of living is too much. I'd rather pay sticker at UF.

Looks like 3.2 (semester 1) was in the top end of the top 33% for the 2009 entering class.skirschner1 wrote:Got the same offer today. Gotcha, thats kinda what I figured. At the very least I could use it as a bargaining chip at other schools.2011Cycle wrote:Looks like 3.2 (semester 1) was in the top end of the top 33% for the 2009 entering class.skirschner1 wrote:Got the same offer today.
