That is the healthy way of looking at things, regardless of one's numbers.

Haha, I was serious. I would be thrilled to get in, but I'm not letting myself think too much about it, and downplaying hopeful thoughts. Makes an acceptance that much better and a denial that much easier to deal with.

Guys, looking at last years LSN, if you have a gpa below a 3.9 your wait could be pretty long. Out of 19 applicants accepted with sub 3.9, only two got their decisions in December.

But it doesn't look good anyways, as 9 of the people with sub 3.9 gpas were URMs. So pretty much, my mid 3.8 means I am fucked.

What about sub-170 LSATS?

Didn't look because it doesn't apply to me.

But it looks like LSN only has 9 reported sub 170s, and 5 of them are URMs.

Edit: So not really enough data points to make any conclusions. I'd assume that if your <170 you better be praying to a better god than I have been praying to.

I don't understand how their LSAT range is so low then. I'm 169/4+ (yes I get it that numbers only get you in the door and that you must be awesome to Stanford), but they can't possibly admit only 172+ people.

Remember that the LSN graphs are a self-selecting sample.

Consider this: What if all the 168-170 admits just couldn't be bothered to obsess over the website? Stanford has a reputation for a blackbox admissions process after all. Don't lose hope.

There's a couple explanations/factors for their numbers. First, their small class size. This means that their 25 th percentile is less than a hundred People. Then you have to take into account I'm using lsn. There weren't enough data point to draw any real conclusions.

With a median of 3.88 I have to assume that stanford's lsn is not an accurate predictor of admissions.

I'm so nervous... Stanford is my only real shot at T3 since I heard that it places more emphasis on GPA than LSAT (4.0/169). I went UR 11/12, though, so it could be a while.

I think I might be giving up on my reach of getting into Stanford. The only applicants who got in last year with my stats were URMs.

Congrats to all that heard back today! With my .79 gpa I won't be hearing back until April for sure, but I'm rooting for all of TLS and I'll live vicariously through your awesomeness

Not long. I submitted 10/15, and I think I was submitted for review 10/22. But that was slightly earlier in the cycle so they may have had less applications to process at the time.
