Re: Yale 2011 applicants
I hope I go complete at Yale soon (submitted 1/10) so I can start obsessing about when my decision will come! I feel left out...
(even though I know Yale is extremely slow and that it's highly unlikely I'll hear anything until the end of April)

So admits are always calls?
Dings/WLs always snail mail?
Nothing by email? Calls sometimes/always happen on Saturday?

Dings in April last year were emails. They were running late. All other points valid.somewhere wrote:So admits are always calls?

For dates of calls last year (and other potentially interesting info), see page 7. Admit calls late in the cycle are frequently on Saturdays, but they're also on other days.somewhere wrote:Calls sometimes/always happen on Saturday?

So, given the twitter from last week:
Do we expect to see lovely rejections hitting our mail tomorrow?Busy week in the AO. More admits later this week and the first round of bad news should hit the mail on Friday or Monday.

Probably, although I've learned not to take the YLS twitter too seriously at this point.lzyovrachievr wrote:So, given the twitter from last week:

In any case, I'm sure there will be all sorts of crazy mail issues to slow things down.

Re: Yale 2011 applicants
I've been complete since 11/4. While I understand I'm going to be rejected, I do think they could have been a bit quicker with their rejection. FINISH HIM!!!

Throwing my hat in the Yale ring for shits and giggles...what's the consensus on how strict the word limit on the 250 is? If I'm at 267 is that a big deal?
edit: that's 267 including the title, the body is only 258

Yes, cut some words. I can guarantee you can cut down 17 words. It doesn't have to be a sentence..just look for areas of superfluous word use.Zabini wrote:Throwing my hat in the Yale ring for shits and giggles...what's the consensus on how strict the word limit on the 250 is? Well, I was as wrong as wrong can be.tomwatts wrote:I would expect a tweet about admit calls tomorrow, based on prior statements. Kind of expecting a big day, for the reasons indicated near the top of this page. Might be Sunday or Monday, though, and it might be small. But I'm betting Saturday, and at least a couple of TLS/LSN people.

Re: Yale 2011 applicants
Throwing my hat in the ring here, went complete last week. I get that Yale (and Stanford) take their time reviewing applicants, but hopefully they get back early enough for most people to make ASW plans.
(Although if you admit me April 30 I will still be happy)
