I didn't even send a LOCI, and I got in after deferred decision. I think having the LOCI does help though, but it's definitely not necessary and doesn't make or break your ability to get into a school.chicarda wrote:+1Johnny5959 wrote:Actually, I would say don't send it. I have to vent. I've been in final review for over a week. I feel like Kent is set on taking their two weeks to provide me with an answer. In the interim (as I sit idle) you lucky ducks are getting off the deferred list. Congratulations for everyone!
I just need closure here...this is painful. Surely, they would have rejected me by now? Why keep me strung a long like bait on a hook? I'm dreaming about Kent in my sleep. Has anyone seen Kent's little video? I keep envisioning the scene where students are slamming their lockers shut.

I was in final review for about 2.5 weeks before they gave me deferred decision. About a month after the deferred decision (as of yesterday) they accepted me. So from what I'm seeing, most people being notified around this time are getting deferred decision, so I'd be prepared to hear something like that, but don't lose hope because they could still turn around and offer you an acceptance like they did for me. Good luck!

Hey, being from Wisconsin I would recommend the obvious (which is do everything you can to get off the wait list at Wisco). But, other than that, I don't think Kent is going to do any better than a law school in Wisconsin. From what I've learned Marquette is considered top-notch state-wide and the perspective doesn't go much farther than state lines. If you really want to practice in Wisco, and have no luck off the wait list, I think you should go with one of your better scholarship offers... like William Mitchell. but Chicago isn't too far away and I'm guessing you would have a lot more career options. Good luck!

Help! So I figured I would put this question out to you guys but I had withdrawn from Chicago-Kent but now they emailed me saying they increased my scholarship offer from $10,000/yr to $20,000/yr + $10,000 1st yr grant. Does anyone have numbers on Kent's employment #s? Can a Kent degree get me back to the east coast where I seemed to have been going? Is the city of Chicago nice? I really seem to have put this school out of my mind once I withdrew and now I am drawing a blank on it! Any help would be greatly appreciated guys.

Just got an email saying I'm in from the wait list from a professor. I sent in my deposit and got a big chunk of money from Loyola Chicago. Is there any chance at all that they will negotiate a scholarship with someone this late who's in off of the wait list? I'm not going unless they give me a big chunk of money, but it's still nice to know that I wasn't dinged.

question:
I've sent about 3 emails to "admissions@kentlaw.edu" and I have never gotten a response. Has anyone ever gotten an email response? Is it better to submit my resume via mail?

Have they already rendered a decision? If ur deferred I would send a hard copy via mail and email them an FYI or a follow-up email confirming receipt. If you're still in review send everything via email to not waste time. I sent them a loci while in review and one week later the director of admissions replied confirming mychristinem20 wrote:question:

Email. Be patient they will reply.

Don't worry they'll get to you. The next stage of the process is final review.IHaveLawyers wrote:It says "Application Complete - In Review," I applied really late in the cycle, my apps went on in late Feb.singingkris wrote:When did you apply? I was deferred on 4/1 so I guess I'll mail a copy.... I'm just getting nervous that I don't have a shot so I'm a bit impatient haha.

Hey everyone! I posted that I was let in 2 days ago off the waitlist, and yesterday they e-mailed me the package they were sending, which I received today.
Anyway, I wanted to let everyone know that they do offer scholarships to those on the WL! I was offered a choice b/w two: Either 20,000 a year contingent on GPA, dropping to half if I fall below, or a guaranteed 12,000 a year w/o any contingencies.
Just wanted to let others wondering about this know!

Awesome! Good to know... Everyone should let Chicago-Kent know that Loyola Chicago has gotten rid of any GPA stipulations on ALL of their scholarships. All you have to do is stay in academic good standing (2.0+). Try and see if you can get Kent to get rid of your stips if possible!CortninO wrote:Hey everyone! I'm full time and was admitted two days ago, and was waitlisted around the same time as you. Good luck!Scottie88 wrote:has anyone been accepted from the waitlist for the part time program? Currently deferred since 12/10 for part time..
Also, I emailed Dean Krent about $$$ and he said it's possible to negotiate. I told him all about Loyola's lacking stipulations and am waiting for a response. I'm a little thrown back because I thought I was for sure going to Loyola and was really looking forward to it... soooo I guess see!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
