I doubt the validity of this statement. I applied to most schools in October/November and asked several to wait until they received my new LSAT score, which turned out to be exactly the same as my September score. Since applying and receiving my Dec LSAT score I have heard from 3 schools (including 1 T14). I expect to be placed on many waitlists this month, but will probably not hear from only 5 schools or so during and after March (applied to 22 schools in total).

The point: if your Dec score is good, you won't have to wait until March.
This seems to be about right.

I applied in November and told schools to wait for my Dec. LSAT. I have heard from 4 Top 14s (Columbia, Duke, NWestern, Georgetown). It seems like other post-December people have also heard from UVA and NYU and I *think* Chicago.

As for the other 7 T14s, all-quiet on the Post-December front as far as I can tell.

EDIT: by 'heard from' I mean received a decision

It feels like people with stellar numbers and terrible numbers receive a decision quickly, and those of us who are borderline are kept waiting.

I guess anything is better than being an auto-deny, right?

Meh, I'd rather be denied right away and not build up a false sense of hope.

I applied to most of the T14 between 1/1 and 1/20. I was Priority Track at Duke, just got an email today saying I've been placed on "Priority Reserve." It was kind of deflating, even though Duke tries to assuage your misery by tacking "priority" in front of everything; a waitlist is still a waitlist. Hope it's not a bellwether.

172 LSAT, 3.65 GPA, strong upward trend in grades, 3 years work experience in law enforcement...I thought I would be safe at the bottom half of the T14. I guess all bets are off.

No. I'm going to visit and write a LOCI to try and show them I'm serious. I don't think my numbers are high enough for it to be YP-related in my case.
