Re: William Mitchell 2013
I was accepted 4/12 to FT program with no scholarship. Do you guys think it is worth attending Mitchell without a scholly? My other options are Cleveland-Marshall with 4k scholarship 3.2 requirement which will make my tuition aroung 18K, and no money at Hofstra (42K), Michigan State (32K) and on the waitlist at Indiana U-indy (38K a year).

Depends on what you want to do and where you want to practice. More info?anti-hero09 wrote:I was accepted 4/12 to FT program with no scholarship. Re: William Mitchell 2013
I saw people were asking about where to live. I actually searched online for awhile and found a company called, Mint Properties. They have properties all around William Mitchell, and I actually signed with them last week. I am two blocks away from William Mitchell, directly on Grand Ave!
Hope this helps.
Also, who else is for sure attending William Mitchell this fall?

I want to practice in the midwest and I have never been to Minneapolis, but I hear good things. I visited Cleveland state and the campus is nice but Cleveland in general seems run down, It reminds me of Detroit. I really like Indianapolis, so its a very hard decision for me. Cleveland seems like a good option becuase it would be so much cheaper, but I am willing to pay more to go to William Mitchell if the quality of life and job opportunities in the twin cities is better.

Don't know too much about Cleveland, but Hofstra is for sure out without a scholly. Graduating median at Mitchell is probably going to give you better job opportunities than graduating top 30% at those other schools. Also, it seems that COA is your largest concern which (while not a bad concern) should not be the deciding factor here. 80k in debt from Cleveland v 100k in debt from WM isn't going to matter that much when it comes to paying it back. What is going to matter is the school that gives you the best opportunity to pay that debt back. In this case that's WM... hands down.anti-hero09 wrote:I want to practice in the midwest and I have never been to Minneapolis, but I hear good things. Re: William Mitchell 2013
Thanks for this info! Where do you live now though? I live in Louisiana at the moment and would be orchestrating this entire move long distance; I definitely want a company that's easy to deal with. Was the entire process particularly difficult? Did you find everyone easy to work with? Any help is much appreciated!lssweeney87 wrote:I saw people were asking about where to live. The company was really great to work with. I went on their website (just google Mint Properties) and looked under the St. Paul tab. They have a good amount of buildings listed, but to know what is up for rent you should call. I signed for May 1st since I want to be there all summer. They should know what apartments are ready for June and when May 1st rolls around they will start to know for July (tenants have to give to mouths notice before moving out). The pictures on the website are pretty true to what the buildings are like. I wanted to be near William Mitchell, and they have a tons of apartments on Grand Ave.. They are really good with helping out. I went up once to find a place (I looked at two in the same building and signed), placed a deposit hold on it (they have to do some kind of background check to make sure you are okay). Then this past Friday they let me sign the lease early because I was up there for Admitted Students day. So overall, they are understanding and a company that seems not to want to screw you over.
Anyways, I really liked them. Another place to look is craigslist.
I hope this helps. Message me with any questions and good luck on your decision.

Thanks again. Hopefully I'll find a good place should I choose to attend.lssweeney87 wrote:The company was really great to work with. That's really helpful. I will be attending mitchell in the fall but I currently live about 5 hours away which makes it difficult. I have heard a lot about mint properties as well as athomeapartments.com. I plan on making the move august 1st so hopefully i'll still be able to get a decent apartment!cartercl wrote:Thanks again.
