Great, I think my chances are pretty good - how did they do for scholarships? Are you going to go there?

Got 30,000 renewable with a 2.65 maybe (can't quite remember). It makes the tuition more reasonable, but I think I'm looking at Villanova for now until I hear from Temple's WL.

Re: Syracuse 2010
That's an interesting number. I thought it was either 28k at 2.8 or 33k at 3.0 (dropping to 28k if you get between 2.8 and 3.0) for everyone so far. I'm honestly just waiting to see about their College of Law Fellowships, because the Chancellor's 33k still leaves 10k to cover (and likely 11.5k then 13k the next three years).beach_terror wrote:Got 30,000 renewable with a 2.65 maybe (can't quite remember). Re: Syracuse 2010
I got 27k originally, then asked if they could do some more based off of my WL at Temple and the fact that I can commute to go to Villanova or Drexel. They bumped me up an extra 3k after that. I'd probably go if they would have bumped me up to 33 or 35k total, but oh well.

Im really interested in Syracuse, got my stuff all sent in. How long was the wait to hear from them? I dont know, if their school wasnt so expensive I think they might be my leader, but that price is making me iffy. I have a 3.25/156 btw. Hoping thats enough to get in.

Those are my exact numbers, and I was accepted less than a month after going complete. I am also a legacy, that might or might not have made a difference.

Re: Syracuse 2010
Thanks for the replies, I really am unfamiliar how the scholly work. Do they offer them to you with the acceptance or do you have to apply for them? I see someone mentioned they got it in their acceptance pack. Is it common to negotiate the scholarship? Should I try it or is there any negative that could happen? Also was that 30 k a semester or year?
Sorry for all the questions, I had to rush a little during my applications because the LSAT in December filled so I had to wait and take it in FEB and was waiting on my score before I started applying so I was kind of in a rush applying. I applied 7 total places, but 2 were just backups and 2 I probably wont get in. So Syracuse is probably in my top 3 of realistic chances. Probably top 2.

Yeah, 30k a year for me. You had to answer the scholarship questions to be considered, I believe. I got 27 and bumped to 30k.
That money should be freeing up too, as I'm probably withdrawing soon. I'm going to visit on Friday just to be sure that I won't like it though.

Re: Syracuse 2010
How long did it take to hear back from them? I applied on March 24th. I am heading up to Michigan from Florida May 1st and thought I might extend the trip a little in order to go visit, however I dont want to waste my time if I dont get in. Sounds like I should get in, so I might go look anyway. Ive never been to Syracuse NY before. Let me know if anything you did on your visit was particularly helpful or if there is something you recommend that I do on the visit.beach_terror wrote:Yeah, 30k a year for me. Syracuse jumped from tier 3 to tier 2 in the newest rankings and shot to 86. Very nice to hear.

Lol I saw that and got upset that I withdrew. Then I remembered I want to go into public service in Southern California and Syracuse wasn't my best option for that.

Actually, Syracuse would have been a fantastic option for you. At SU you can get a dual degree (MPP, MPA, etc) from Maxwell (ranked #1 in the country for its public policy programs) at no extra cost.

Re: Syracuse 2010
The Syracuse deposit isn't binding, right? I read over the form and it didn't indicate that, but I got an email saying I signed an "intent to register". Is that just another way of saying my seat is reserved until the other deposit is in?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
