Under Review as of 12/07 too. I feel bad for everyone who waited forever to be under review- I just sent in my application like 4 days ago. Seems like they were off to a slow start.

+1 for under review 12/07. Penn State is one of the schools I am looking forward to hearing back from and checking out. How do they normally give their decisions? Via status checker, phone call, email, or snail mail?

Also under review as of 12/07.
Hopefully the decision will come shortly after Pitt. I need to plan my school visits.

I read on someone's LSN profile that they called PSU admissions office, and the office said most decisions won't go out until March?? Has anyone else heard this? I'm hoping it's incorrect.

Wow. That seems like a long time to be under review. The person might have been confused by the message at the heading of the status checker that says "Due to the volume of applications and the competitive nature of the admission process we cannot guarantee a final decision on your application before May 2010."nickc8 wrote:I read on someone's LSN profile that they called PSU admissions office, and the office said most decisions won't go out until March?? (EDIT: idk why they would confuse March with May...)
FWIW, according to LSN Penn State started making decisions as early as November 14th last year.

Wow I hope that's incorrect. I feel like saying decisions won't go out until March is a standard thing said by most admissions offices, whereas people usually get accepted before that. It looks like last year decisions started going out by mid-November, so hopefully we'll hear something soon!nickc8 wrote:I read on someone's LSN profile that they called PSU admissions office, and the office said most decisions won't go out until March?? How long did it take most of y'all after you submitted your application to get an email from Penn?

They emailed me the same day I submitted.tallywhacker wrote:How long did it take most of y'all after you submitted your application to get an email from Penn?
P.S. Not trying to sound like a jerk, but in case you're confused, this is the Penn State thread, not the Penn thread.

Pardon my ommission. *Penn State. I'd love to post on the Penn forum but I don't think with my gpa/lsat they would allow it haha.
That's odd, i submitted about a week ago and still no email.

Haha I was seriously not trying to sound mean or sarcastic- just wanted to make sure you realized, in case you were looking for info about Penn.tallywhacker wrote:Pardon my ommission. *Penn State. I'd love to post on the Penn forum but I don't think with my gpa/lsat they would allow it haha.

You should probably call them on Monday to make sure they received your application.

Re: Penn State 2010 application cycle
Well after looking back over my submitted App I didn't check anything on the question that asked which campus I wanted to attend. Reason for wait? Should I contact them and tell them one or the other?

Re: Penn State 2010 application cycle
The application said that, if admitted, you have the choice to choose between the two campuses formally, you don't have to go to the campus which you have indicated on the application. I think they just want to have some kind of idea as to how many students they can admit into each school. However, I would call them, or email them and correct the discrepancy, it is just courteous; and while you have them on the phone, ask them when they will send out decisions!
